Financial Aid Mail

Did anyone else get a small piece of mail about financial aid from UVA today? Its not even in an envelope and I'm sure they send it out to all applicants, but I was just checking if anyone else got it.

I was wondering the same thing! I got it about a week and a half ago, and so did a couple of my friends, but a friend of mine said she didn’t get one…but maybe mine just came earlier in the mail? I’m not sure. I really hope it is something!

Thanks for responding so quickly!!! Its just this small yellow piece of paper right? I really hope it means something too!! Lets see what some other people say on this forum…

No problem! Yeah when I saw it, my heart jumped lol. But it’s probably nothing…?

I received it also and had my DAD complete the SIS and fax the taxes as it said. Anyone know what it means?

I took it for what it was: a reminder to complete requirements for FA. I think everyone got one. It was easy to miss, small junk mail looking card.

What is the SIS? Is that the UVA application online?

Its the Student Information System. Once they process your application, they send you the following to followup on any to do’s you have left and you can check status.

Thank you for applying to the University of Virginia. By following the link below and using the information in this e-mail (your Computing ID and U.Va.
Student System ID), you can validate your credentials and receive a password for accessing your U.Va. Student Center account.

Click on the “Get Password” button on the Student Information System (SIS) homepage and enter the information below to receive your password. You will need to enter your last name, first name, date of birth, and email address exactly as you did on your application as well as your U.Va. Computing ID and U.Va. Student System ID listed below. Hit the “Submit Request” button and a password will be generated. If you ever lose your password, you can generate a new one by repeating these steps.

Copy your password, return to the SIS front page, and click the button that reads “SIS Login.” Below “Login with U.Va. Computing ID & Password” on the Netbadge Web Login page, enter your Computing ID and the Password that was
just generated.

On the right side of the Student Self Service page, you will see a “To Do List”, showing outstanding items required to complete your application. It is important that you check your “To Do List” often to make sure you have completed all the components of your application. Once you complete a “To Do List” item, it will no longer appear on your list. At the bottom of your Student Center page, under the Admissions heading, you can monitor your application status and see your admission decision on the notification date.

You can also use the Student Center to update personal information (address, phone, email, etc.) as needed.

Please do not respond to this e-mail. You may contact the Office of Admission at uvaapplicationinfo@virginia.edu if you have any difficulties accessing your account.

I received one too…I’m pretty sure it’s just something they send out to everyone who applies for financial aid. Although I received it after the March 1 deadline, so it doesn’t really help me now. Good thing I had already sent in my stuff…I hope they got it all!

D got one about a week before the deadline. We’re hoping it’s a sign too, but won’t get our hopes up just yet.
