On D's financial page, it said
Student Contribution $1,750.00
Parental Contribution $40,000.00
Total Resources
Remaining Need $41,750.00
$0.00

Then on the bottom, it lists the awards D received, totaling to 16750 per semester. (~33000 a year?)
Does this mean the parent pays 40000 MINUS the award received? Or is it somehow included and I pay 40000 a year??

I called the Financial Aid office today, and the number listed under student/parent resources (in my case, $20,000) is supposed to paid by the family. I asked about payment plans and was told that MoHo is in the process of switching from Sallie Mae to a in-house payment system, and I should be receiving additional information soon.

The best way to receive an accurate response is to contact Mount Holyoke Student Financial Services, by phone 413-538-2291, or by e-mail sfs@mtholyoke.edu . A member of their staff can explain the package to you.

I don’t understand some parts of my financial aid offer too.
Do you think it’ll all be clear in the official "accepted " packed and that I should wait, or that I should call to clarify?

Please call Student Financial Services at the number in my post above. If you feel more comfortable, send an e-mail. They will guide you through your individual aid package.

The first page has two awards and if you click on details, it will show the entire thing. I’m going to have negotiate with them. Right now they have family contribution at 13k which isn’t going to happen but I don’t want 13k in loans.
