I got accepted into Mt Holyoke (Class 2015) with about 50% finaid. The thing is, my dad's job is based on contracts, of which the current one ends in September 2011.

Even with about 50% finaid, the family contribution comes up to about US$26000+ a year, and while this is bearable with a source of income, it'll be a nightmare if my dad were to lose his employment (contract ends and isn't renewed).

The admission for Moho is 'need-aware' or sth like that for intl students, but does anyone know the policy for reconsideration of aid (for intl students).

I know that they say they will take things like loss of employment into consideration, but I want to know if it applies to intl students too, and what are the chances that my request will be accepted (with like $0 income).

So I made do not panic because you can usually call and explain that your situation and ask for more financial support that will make then a few questions and want to know what has changed. Then advise you get over it and then bescheidt if they offer you more or not.

hey! does anyone know if it’s possible to request for more aid (particularly international students) in the coming years if let’s say there is a change in my father’s income/additional siblings attending college?

Questions such as these should be asked of the College directly. I would encourage you to email or phone Student Financial Services @ 413-538-2291 or
sfs@mtholyoke.edu so a member of their staff can explain everything to you.

@xxtripleaxe: You have to say it all now! You have to explain which kind of college your siblings will attend, etc… I’m not sure about your father’s income, but I remember a question on the FinAid form which asks if their will be a significant increase/ decrease in your parents’ income. But just ask the finaid office! First of all, it’s possible to get more aid.

xxtripleaxe: I’ve emailed sfs, and I’ve asked about this during the chat for the admitted student and parents. In both cases, they told me that these requests to receive more aid will be considered if you are able to show proof of your changes. However, if you are not able to show any changes to your situation, their current offer is the final one. This is with regards specifically to international students (I asked them!).
