Well, the packet arrived yesterday. Disappointed...not much in merit aid, mostly loans.

Same here. We might go visit, but it's a long shot. I know RH isn't known for great merit money, their tuitionis already lower than comparable schools.

How much merit money did you guys get?

5k merit, 5k from Catapult. My friend that went to catapult got the same, and another friend who applied (no Catapult) got 9k merit.

I also received 9000 merit. I did not attend Catapult.

S received $10,000 in merit aid, but the bottom line was still more than our EFC.

We too were surprised at the 10k merit aid, but every school is different in how they allocate their limited funds. Thought that son would be able to go to Rose and get a strong education for a bit less, but looks like it will be essentially the same price as MIT and Mudd. (Still waiting for final financial aid packets from the other two.)

i got 6000k merit and the 3100 laptop loan or wahtever but im still waiting on my financial aid from fafsa how much did you guys get from fafsa and waht was your efc

Don't give up just yet! Did your kids get outside scholarship $$$ from other sources - if so, check how the colleges handle it! when I went through this all a few years back, Rose added the outside money on & 2 other schools said they would take away their $$$ so the total was still the same - it is all very confusing!

Yes, this is a key question. Caltech, for example, takes the outside scholarships off of the student contribution and then the loans rather than what Caltech provides in grant money. I'm not sure about R-H.

i just received my full award, i got about 20k in grants, 6k in loans, and i am responsible for ab out 17k which isnt bad fora school that costs 45k
