As the title suggests, I haven't received my financial aid package yet. I definitely can't accept MIT's offer of admission without knowing the amount they are willing to assist me with. I'm wondering what I should do.

The finaid office has been postponing their decision for over three weeks! They recently (1wk ago) told me that they had read the application and it was missing the electronically-filed profile of my noncustodial parent. I followed up with the CB and they confirmed that they had sent the parent's profile. I still don't see how they could have misplaced it AND failed to update me or their website (especially considering I call them on a bi- or tri-weekly basis). I'm wondering what's going on and why they waited till a couple of weeks from the decision date to tell me they were missing this component?

I'm sort of in a tight situation, since I need to make an informed decision by May 1st and don't have their financial aid package. While MIT might grant me a 1wk extension, I surely won't receive one from each college I'm accepted into.

zking my son hasn't received his either and they weren't missing any of our information, which was all in on time. I phoned today for the third time and was told that it was sent out today. I sure hope so! They said if I didn't receive it tomorrow that they could fax it to us. Perhaps they could do the same for you.

I also haven't recieved my package! I sent the noncustodial parent waiver thing a week or two ago and that's been accepted and approved. At CPW, I was even told that my pell grant was already given, and thus my financial aid package was in the works. How much longer does it take?!

Well it's good to know that there are others. Hang tight- I'm sure it will arrive in time for May 1st decisions............. She said hopefully.

Alternatively, you could contact me directly and I can research and let you know what is going on. PM me and I will forward my direct number.

Remember that we are running about a week turnaround time from the time we get your paperwork (and that it can take a week to two weeks from the time the College Board gets your information until we get it). We are also swamped with people who have filed last minute and are now looking for their results. We are working as hard as we can to get these out (hence the reason we just sent out another 40 or so awards today) but the time is necessary to make sure we do a thorough job.

Your situation though, zking, seems more confused so PM me your name and I can research what is going on.
