When does Michigan State let you know if you've been awarded any scholarships or grants? If they've given you any money, will they tell you with your admission letter?

I don’t know about honor students. They may be told right away what they get being in honors college. Right now the ADS competition is going on for the very top students and that is for the largest scholarships. Financial aid packages start coming out mid to late March, I believe, and then over the spring and summer scholarships and grants are added. Your financial aid package may change many times before fall. Sometimes you might get a letter asking you to apply for a scholarship but a lot of the scholarships are just awarded.

My son did receive a scholarship from MSU when he was a senior in high school but I don’t remember if he got it in April or May. Just thought I would add that. He is a junior now.

D just returned from the ADS competition. They said they’ll try to send out most scholarship awards by mid-March.

I got my acceptance letter in October, in November they sent out my honors college invitation with scholarship awards, went to ADS weekend in Feb. and didn’t get anything but then once I enrolled at MSU in July (before school started) I got another scholarship through the mail. It really depends…
