Financial Aid Screw-Up

So, I called Columbia's FAO to ask why the website said they had not received my non-custodial parent's W-2 forms. They told me they had received 2, but they needed another one. I realized I forgot to send the third to all of the colleges that asked for W-2s. They're giving me the opportunity to fax it to them, but now my fax isn't working (just my luck).

Now I am worried about Barnard and SLC. Should I just call and ask if they'll accept it now? Will it hurt my FA package?

So sorry about the worries, but do not panic. I would definitely contact the other two schools and just ask if they have all the needed information. If they say you are missing the last W2, then ask if you can fax it to them immediately. I am sure they will agree.

As far as Columbia, they told you to fax it so they are going to look at everything. I think it will be fine. Don’t spend all your energy worrying about something you cannot change. As far as the fax—head to Staples immediately! One thing to remember, Columbia’s FAO has a form online to print out to use when you fax documents to their office. It requires your ID number and other information. Definitely use this form so that they can process it immediately. It has been my experience that they update your page regarding documents very quickly.

Good luck and try not to stress! :-)
