Hi, I was accepted EA and was wondering when I could be expecting to hear back from ND about what my Estimated Family Contribution will be. I submitted my papers to FAFSA and IDOC on the first day that it was possible, i do not know if this makes a difference or not.

If anyone else has received their fin aid package in the mail I would love to know when they got it.

i believe that yours and the regular action students will receive them around the same time and I believe it is about a week or so after the regular action students find out…i may be mistaken but i believe what I said above is how it normally works.

My son was admitted and we’re waiting to hear too. From looking at the blogs from 2010, it appears that letters were sent on the last day of March. The notes from last year aren’t very encouraging. Sounds like most were expected to take out personal loans for the full EFC.

And how did the University make up the difference between the EFC and the COA? I’m assuming with University grants and the Federal subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford loans

DD is a VERY happy freshman at Notre Dame. While I do not recall our EFC vs the package (2 kids in college), I know say she was only offered SUBSIDIZED loans (Stafford & Perkins). I want to say it was about $6,500. This did not excite us, as we did not want her to take out any loans. That said, the school did give her grant/scholarship money as well. No regrets! Good luck!

I hate to say it but every time I get excited, I think about that FA letter. We’ve also resigned ourselves to the efc but hoping (and praying) that it’s a little better news. God forbid it’s worse.

Received our financial aid information today too. We’re grateful for the help that was offered - the numbers are better than the EFC. It’s still a stretch for us, but we feel it’s worth it. Prayers answered.
