Hearing about Financial Aid?

Did financial aid come with regular action acceptances? I got in EA and haven't spoken with anyone who got in regular and am curious. I really, really want to know about FA from Notre Dame because I just got a huge package from Vandy and am praying to god ND comes close.

If people have not already received them, is there any word on when we should be hearing?

i heard from someone they will be released in about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks, but i do not know for sure.

Another post said that when they were on campus they were told EA financial aid was scheduled to go out last night. I sent a note to my regional rep but haven’t heard back.

My D was the one who was at Reilly Weekend (March 21-24). On that Monday at the FA meeting they where tyold that EA admit’s FA packages would go out next Monday(30th).
I hope so because our decisions rides on what they give us.

Hoping for Wednesday of this week.

Good Luck!

We’re with you--------Decision TOTALLY depends on what ND offers. D really, really wants to go to ND, but we cannot afford it at this point. She has some other awesome offers, so we’re crossing our fingers and praying for what is meant to be.

Just wondering—I know ND doesn’t give “merit aid”, but do most students who attend get a decent financial package? We’re not wealthy enough to afford the rate, but not poor enough to garner any real “need aid”.

Nervously waiting…

colclifuir - i did a search on the ND forum using “financial aid” and found the post from last year. Looks like ND does award merit money as part of their FA package as well as loans and work study.

question…i was told that i would have to sign up for the selective services in order to receive federal aid??? i dont understand this, why can i just not receive aid?

matis609: It is a violation of Federal Law to NOT register for selective service, whether you receive aid or not. This applies to males after they turn 18. Part of your obligation as a citizen of this country is to abide by Federal laws.

Ok but what if im 17?

If you’re seventeen you don’t have to register til you’re 18.

Wait, so were all the aid letters sent yesterday (Monday the 30th?) I was accepted EA and another person who was also accepted EA that I know emailed the school and they said they would be mailing them on Friday the 27. So did they just push the EA aid letters back even further?!

I got in EA and got the FA letter today!!! $30 grand a year

Congrats on your FA - that is just as exciting as getting in. Still waiting for our mail to come today. Hope our news is that good. I would be happy with 20,000.

No financial aid information in today’s mail. ND is one of four schools that have yet to give us financial aid packages…I’m thinking ND is out of the running, but we won’t know for sure until we know what kind of aid S will get!

Was this in line with what you were expecting - the calculations from FAFSA of CSS Profile? My FAFSA form has our EFC much higher than CSS and I am hoping they use the EFC from the CSS profile.

Where do you find your EFC from the CSS/Profile?

I didn’t get the exact number from the profile, but there was a calculation online that I used. It was pretty accurate for FAFSA, so I figured it would be accurate for CSS too.

Got mine in Texas today.
20,000.
Decent

hey guys does nd meet 100% demonstrated need?

i believe that ND does, i guess we should all find out relatively soon.
