<p>It's no secret that GW is a very expensive school.... What I am curious about is the actual average of need based financial aid is. I've done the College Board "Net Price Calculator" but would be very gracious for actual input from students, and parents of students. Thank you very much!</p>
<p>The only reason I am able to attend GW is because of the generous financial aid they gave me. Granted, $10k of that is from the Engineering School but even without that GW would have been my cheapest option. At Colonial Inauguration I heard a bunch of other people talking about all the aid they got as well. It really just depends on your family’s situation and how much you’re able to afford. From my financial aid package, they don’t seem too stingy.</p>
<p>The aid is definitely fair, but know what you mean when you say “need-based aid.”</p>
<p>Although that can include grants if your EFC is low, that also includes loans!</p>
<p>Need-based does not equal grants.</p>
<p>That said, I feel the financial aid department does a great job at GW.</p>
