Financial Aid

I checked my NCSU Financial Aid online, and it says that I'm getting Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loans for both semesters. And my semester award is 1750. What does this mean? My EFC is around 16,000. I find it unfair because my friend has only an EFC of 800, and he has a fancier lifestyle than I do. His family has nice cars, grand piano and they own a whole bunch of houses overseas for ppl to rent, overall, lifestyle is above the average family. He's also staying in University Towers, and he's getting $14,000 in aid. I applied for Merit Scholarships, when do I find out about the scholarships?

Thank You.

yeah... i have a 14000 efc (very bogus)...

but how did u check your financial aid online already???

http://www7.acs.ncsu.edu/financial_aid/ then click on financial aid inquiry on the right. and log in with your student id and pass..

what is your student idea and password? my unity id hasn't been set up yet b/c my acceptance was just confimed last week

go to ur wolfpaw account and click app. status. they have ur student unity id and ur password is the last 4 numbers and then your b-day (example, july 4 would be 0704), so the last 4 numbers of your id number and then bday, XXXX0704

mine says "not yet assigned" for unity id

i guess i got to wait then

They'll mail it to you, I just got my financial aid report in the mail today.

My ID and password is not working, and I haven't been sent a letter about financial-aid. Help?

i'm really confused. on my wolfpaw, it doesn't say that i have a "unity id" it has my student id...and i tried that with the password type thing you said, and it didn't work. eugggghhh

seuferk, did u send in your 200 dollar deposit??? b/c that is the first step to obtaining an id

oh. no. cause i'm not sure if i'm going or not--but should i not be able to see my financial aid first? that does make sense, however, as to why i can't check it.
