How many people here are even attempting to get McGill to give some need money?

Also, question to any of the parents who tried...When you submitted your CSS profile to them did everything go smoothly? I sent mine in 2/1/07, but they told my dad over the phone today that it had yet to be received.

Also, when do we get our tuition statements or whatever, in the mail? I'd kinda like to compare packages (though I know that might not happen with McGill) before I sign and send my stuff away.

Thanks for the help.

I was not aware that McGill had "need" grants. We did submit the FAFSA, but awards are few for international students. Your best bet is to assume you wont be getting financial aid and use the information on the web site to calculate your costs. Dont forget the fees, they are a substantial part of your total costs.

McGill is good about not billing too early, unlike US colleges that start billing new students in June/July. Your bill will be due in September. We never see a paper bill, it is all done electronically thru Minerva.

i got a $2,000 bursary from McGill recently. not much, but its something!

bump for good news

To all others applying for aid, 3 days after my entrance bursary was reviewed, I got a decision, and they approved $6k. Good luck to all others who are applying for financial aid.
