Financial AID

If you are from texas, and whant to study at NYC.... what are the chances of you having financial aid? I mean i know it depends on how much do have and you mom o r dad .. but does it affect if you are from texas?

If you are a Pell grant recipient, then you will get a pell grant wherever you attend school because these are federal funds.

If you are a texas resident, looking for NYS aid (TAP), then it is not going to happen. If you are applying to your screen name, unless you are TAP eligible (NYS aid) or accepted through HEOP (higher education opportunity program for NYS residents), the amount of FA aid does not depend on where your parents live.

From your screenname here…NYU22, I’m assuming you meant to type “study at NYU” not study at NYC.

If that is the case, your instate/oos residency really doesn’t matter too much for financial aid purposes as Sybbie said. NYU is a PRIVATE school, not a publicly funded one.

NYU seems to “gap” many students applying for financial aid. They do not meet full financial need. But being from another state doesn’t affect that either.

I do have to ask…are you looking at schools in the UT system??
