Financial aid !!

the website says it that the school offers fin aid , does anyone knows f it meet the 100% of demonstrated need ??
p.s. I'm an International student 4m Egypt .

IIT is actually very good about meeting most of your financial need. I would definitely apply and just see what comes up.

I am confused about the fin aid. Collegeboard shows that IIT gives non-need -based aid to quite a few intl students. However, intl students have to provide an affidavit of support ($ 45,000) in their application.
So are only graduate intls students eligible for any kind of fin aid?
or do they just give out very small fin aid packages($1,000- 5,000)?

Thanks

Hi! I’m a faculty member at IIT so I am far from an expert about financial aid and I am definitely NOT speaking officially on behalf of the university, but here’s how I understand it: the Affidavit of Support covers a U.S. Immigration F-1 (student) Visa requirement to show that visa applicants “Possess sufficient funds to pursue the proposed course of study.” ([Student Visas](<a href=“404 - Page Not Found”>404 - Page Not Found)). Also as I understand it most financial aid for international students will be merit-based rather than need-based, so if you have a 34 on the ACT exam or a 2100 on the SAT exam and are in the top 5% of your secondary school class you’d probably be in range and below that would be on a purely case-by-case basis. IIT is a highly competitive school and generally we are only going to provide support for international students who will bring something truly special to the university.
