Just received conditional acceptance. They want me to show that I have at least $60,000 in my bank account. I am applying for financial aid (international), too. Does that mean if I cannot show I have that much money in my account, I can't be accepted?

Hi!! I have exactely the same issue (look here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/syracuse-university/1464666-international-student-financial-aid.html )
I can’t really answer your question but it seems that this is a general problem so there might as well be another letter to come. I sent them an e-mail yesterday to ask, I might call if I don’t get an anwer. Have you received your postal letter? Maybe it will say something in there.
It’d be great if we could keep eachother updated, I will write as soon as I hear anything from the office.

I dropped a message for lesidols in there too…
Most schools want you to show that you can pay for a whole year, otherwise they won’t let you come :(. The conditional admissions just means your grades and application are good enough.

Hi y’all, its quite easy to crack…its just an assurance that you wouldn’t get stuck when you arrive at the U.S…if one could foot the whole bill, there wouldn’t be any loams for international shuts. So basically, they are working with your honour statement that you can be financially responsible. Go to tge Collegeboard website and download the ‘International Student Certification Of Finances Form’, fill it up and send to the admissions office…even through email…I hope this helps.

Sorry about the errors…

Some schools won’t accept that. A lot of them will require a letter from your bank. It’s also a requirement to get an I-20 to show that you can afford a year of school.
