DS still hasn't received an email indicating his dorm assignment, but yesterday we found it on webadvisor. He logged in and went to the 'Student' page. Under the 'Academic Profile' heading, he clicked on My Profile. The dorm and room# were listed under emergency contact information.
Perhaps some of you still waiting will find this works for you, too.
Son is registered for classes and getting quite pumped up!
Happy summer, everyone. :)

I tried this and there is nothing listed under emergency contact info but Iāll keep checking.
Thanks!

Ah, perhaps it will show up soon, marioluigi. DS was assigned to North Morlan, as heād hoped. N. Morlan has doubles only (no triples) and itās an old-fashioned, 60ās/block-style building that is more to DSās tastes than the new fancier dorms. He liked that doors all open to the outdoors (rather than a hallway) and there is a center grass lawn. I imagine that most kids prefer the more deluxe dorms, but this suits him. We are happy, too, because itās the least expensive option. :)

Mine isnāt up either. Gladiatorbird, what are your sonās major and FFC class?

Heās a digital arts major and in Honors college. FFC is 'What does Literature do?" (or something along those lines). He just picked an FFC that worked with his 3 Dig Arts courses. Chapman told him (via an email earlier in summer) that heād be put in either Morlan or Glass, as part of a new Dodge āpilotā community that is based on majors (instead of FFC surveys).

He tells me that some friends also found out about their dorm assignment this way, on webadvisor. They are still waiting for official notification via email, like he is.

When I was at the academic advising on Friday, someone said that they were placing all of the Bio Sci and Health Sciences majors in Henley. Maybe they changed things up this year and decided to do dorm placement by major instead of FFC - that certainly makes more sense if youāre trying to place people with similar interests together.

My assignment just popped up on Webadvisor - Iām in Pralle. That was my second choice. I sure hope these are doubles and not triples because weāre sharing a bathroom with the adjoining room. 6 kids (even 6 boys) is just too many for one bathroom.

So, did everyone get their dorm assignments?

I found out our room does not share a bathroom with an adjoining room so Iām stoked about that.

My preferred roommate and I did get a 3rd roommate assigned - kinda bummed about that.

Registered today too and got all my classes that I wanted. :)

SoCaGuy- how did you find out your room does not share a bathroom?

I had that question as well. My son got into Pralle also, but I only see 2 possible floorplans on Chapmanās website. Is there a building floor plan as well?

I just got this response from the dorm Facebook page:

Pralle Sodaro Hall Rooms that share a bathroom with a neighboring room include:
105 - 114; 119; 120; 125; 126; 129 - 136; 139; 140; 201; 205 - 214; 219 - 221; 225; 226; 229 - 236; 239; 240; 301; 305 - 314; 319 - 321; 325; 326; 329 - 336; 339; 340; 405 - 414; 419; 420; 425; 426; 429 - 436; 439; 440

Now we know!

Sorry - I just came back here. I found out I didnāt share a bathroom because I was looking at the Facebook group for Chapman 2016 and saw that there were girls in 416 and 418 so I kinda thought we might not share a bathroom - I e-mailed my RA and he confirmed. :)

Glad ā My S is also in āWhat does literature do?ā but he is in Pralle-Sodaro! So Iām not sure how much they really tried to put kids in the same LLC in the same dorm.

Hi SJR,
The email he received a month ago said the kids in the pilot program would not be assigned to dorms according to FFC, but rather by major. It was not clear if all Dodge freshman were in the pilot program. At any rate, they did do what they said for DS: assigned him to North Morlan, where he is part of a film-related community, rather than an FFC-affiliated one.
Thatās the sum total of my understanding. What is your sonās major, again, SJR? Did ge receive a similar email about being in a pilot program?

Itās nice being in Glass-- private bathrooms, woo!

Glad, my sonās major is broadcast journalism. No, no pilot program email. But, he is an athlete, and both of his roommates are also on CU teams, though different sports. Iām thinking maybe they put the athletes together? S didnāt request it, but it does seem like a good idea.

They gave D the chance to opt out of what she calls āthe film ghettoā because her roommates are not in Dodge, so she is in Pralle. (not one of her top choices, though.) Her FFC is in a different place entirely, I believe. Seems like they changed the system some this year, probably in response to not being able to construct the film village as hoped.

S-fan, I think youāre right.
On move-in day, I wonder if weāll pass each other in the Pralle hallway, and not know it? Weāre doing the Bed, Bath & Beyond thing ā look for the kid with the zebra striped dorm bed set up :)

My son is in Dodge (TV) and is in Pralle. Where is the āfilm ghettoā?
