So basically, as the title says: I went to community college for my first two years, got a 3.0 GPA upon getting my Associate of Science degree. Upon transferring to my new school that I regret choosing as well as a major I regret choosing, I now have an abysmal GPA of 1.7 and risk being thrown out of school. I was wondering if there was any way to transfer to a new school using only my community college transcripts or will I have to go back to community college and start over even if I already graduated?

I'd appreciate some answers, thank you for reading.

Why do you have that GPA? Have you made any effort to bring your grades up? Have you spoken with someone about changing your major? Have you used the tutoring center on campus? Have you stopped by the counseling center to get help with the whole regretting thing? There is every chance that your situation can be salvaged if you want it to be. You will, however, need to be proactive.

If the major and the school are truly bad matches for you, you need to think through how it is that you made such dismal choices so that you can avoid those kinds of mistakes in the future. Again, this is something that the counseling center should be able to give you some help with. A semester (or more) off would probably be your best plan so that you can truly sort out what is going on inside your head. Then when you have a clear goal in sight, you could consider returning to your current college/university with a different major, or applying elsewhere as a transfer. You don’t need to go back to community college in order to get ready for a different college/university. What you will need is a very clear statement of why you now know that X is the correct major for you.

Wishing you all the best!

I considered taking a semester off but I also forgot to mention one more issue:

The class I failed in was taken out of the school the next semester. So I’m also trying to figure out how I could re-take my failed course so I could boost my GPA.
