First choice on NM card

<p>We will be submitting our college choice card to National Merit Corp this weekend and plan to put Bama as first choice.</p>

<p>Is there anything else we need to do for Bama to dot the i’s and cross the t’s to get the National Merit Scholarship package at Bama?</p>

<p>Luckily, I talked to NMC this morning, as I thought we had to wait until notified of finalist status or notification of corporate award to do this.</p>

<p>Come to find out, we wouldn’t get the corporate award, if qualified, until we submit a choice card.</p>

<p>So confusing. I thought you couldn’t choose a college to get the corporate award.</p>

<p>Whew, almost blew that one.</p>

<p>Yes, you do need to still put a #1 choice, even if you’re accepting a corporate award along with the reduced “unofficial” NMF scholarship from Bama.</p>

<p>NMCorp needs to know that your child intends on attending a college in the fall, otherwise your child isn’t eligible for the corporate award, either. </p>

<p>Now, he’ll get the corporate award and the unofficial NM Bama merit.</p>

<p>(I doubt you would have “blown it.” NMCorp calls people who haven’t selected a #1 choice.)</p>
