I was admitted ED2 and I’m thinking about all of the housing options. I definitely want a co-ed floor which is limited to two residence halls and I know which dorm I’d like to live in. Do you get to choose which houses you’d like to live in or do they just throw you in anywhere? Also, do early decision students get priority? I heard they do but I’m not sure.
My son sent his housing form in almost the very last day. His Freshman roommate that became one of his best friends for his entire time at Lehigh. They lived in M&M. His floor was not co-ed. But by Parent’s Weekend in October he had a great group of friends that included some really nice girls. So I hope you get the housing you want but even if you get assigned a floor that isn’t co-ed I would guess you are going to have a bunch of girls in your social group.
I guess the sooner you apply the more likely you are to get your choice of housing. But I think you would be happy in any of the dorms!!!
Speaking of dorm rooms - Lehigh provides floor plans of all the dorm rooms. And Bed, Bath and Beyond has a great check list for dorm room supplies. You can even purchase the stuff at your local BB&B and pick the stuff up at their Bethlehem store! We always bought the dorm rug there at some discount store and threw it away at the end of the year! Haha
Congratulations on your acceptance to Lehigh! I know you will have four amazing years that will go by way too fast!
Hey, current first-year here. You don’t get to pick your building your first year, which actually eliminates some of the stress. But you definitely do get to select what type of floor you want and a roommate if you have one lined up. ED kids usually end up in the same buildings, but this isn’t always true. They might arrange rooms by date of deposit, but I can’t claim this as fact. All of the first-year buildings are practically identical so you can’t go wrong. You’ll have more choice in later years, but just focus on making the most out of your room!
