@manhattanblonde Personally, I would do it anyways so they could consider you for scholarships (they rarely give scholarships to freshman, but I think it’s worth a shot). If you’re still unsure call the financial aid office today!
Hi everyone, I just found this. I live in Georgia and applied for A&MC. I got to go to New York and tour FIT and I’m so in love. I’m sooooo excited to get back my acceptance letter I wish I didn’t take so long
@kayla97 Ugh same!! But just think, this time next month we might start hearing back
Hey guys! So I just made an attempt to gain access to my FIT email and it was a success! The other schools that I applied to didn’t provide me with an email until AFTER I was accepted. Hopefully this is a good sign! Also, why would they assign emails to students who got rejected? Does anybody know anything about this? Thanks!
@hausofemily I just tried logging into mine as well and I was able to get in. However there are emails in there that were sent from FIT dating back before I even finished submitting all my required application materials. It might just get created when we first submit our applications and receive our login information, I’m not sure exactly.
@hausofemily how do you check the my FIT email? I’d like to attempt as well
@jack823 Before you log into the MyFIT portal, there’s a section underneath the login that says “Forgot your password?..”. You’re going to click on that & change it to something that isn’t the original DOB password that FIT assigned to you. Next you’re going to log into the portal with the new password. Then click on the “E-mail” link in the upper right hand corner and log in with your username and password for MyFIT. Say your username is “JohnSmith”, your email would be “JohnSmith@fitnyc.edu”.
@hausofemily thank you so much! mine works!
Has anyone joined the FIT class of 2020 facebook page?
Yes! And there’s a groupme you can join
What is the groupme name? I wanna join!
Anyone transferring from another college?
@xMegancx I am! what program did you apply to?
@oaj732 I applied to Fashion Business Management 2 year AAS! What about you?
I was just reading that the “priority processing” for financial aid ended on the fifteenth and I just read the e-mail. what does this mean?
Does anyone know if fit will email us when they receive our fasfa or can I only find out on their website?
@veezyy If the financial aid checklist on your MyFIT account is open, then they have your FAFSA. You can always call financial aid to ask.
@CosmeticQueen18 - Priority simply means “first come, first served,” i.e. those who submitted their material by February 15th will have their information reviewed first. There’s nothing wrong with sending your financial aid material after that date, but if you turned it in before February 15th, then it will be processed sooner than those who filed later.
I am also transferring from a community college but in Texas. I am so nervous and anxious! I just want to know! Also do they take a big consideration when it comes to your high school grades. I am doing very well in college I have a 3.87 GPA and about 30 credits but I didn’t do so well in high and it’s been stressing me out. Does anyone know ? Thank you.
