Fit for Computer Science

Hey guys,
I have applied to the Cornell College of Engineering and have listed computer science as my intended major.
The problem: I have a lot of science/math ECs, olympiads etc. but none of them relate to CS. In fact, when the admissions officer is reading my app, the first time he/she will come across the term CS will be in the essays. While the rest of my app reads science (particularly physics), there are no ECs relating to CS except an EECS club at school.

I have heard Cornell is all about fit. So, would my app is frowned upon? I mean, does cornell care for "fit" to college or "fit" to the intended major?

Thanks!

You’ll be fine, I would imagine most applicants experience with CS doesn’t extend much beyond taking java or AP Computer science.

hey i got into the engineering college early with a very similar setup as yours

I applied as a cs major with absolutely 0 cs extracurrics, mentionings, etc besides in my why engineering essay. However like the above poster said I took AP CS and 2 courses beyond that, systems level programming and computer graphics(not photoshop, using programming languages to get the computer to draw graphics), both of which are high level college courses since my school offered them.

So if I were you I wouldn’t worry too much if you have a well qualified application etc, I didn’t even have math/science ECs! (I was captain of the debate team)
