Good Monday. 4 miles in 2 1-mile each way round trips. Morning was bagels to get out of way of the cleaning lady. Evening was dinner for Valentine’s Day

Still doing my biking, walking and/or light weights/ some stretching every day. Some days are better than others when it comes to eating. Ice cream and white wine are my downfalls.
I am good about eating lots of fruits and veggies, and not a lot of bread.

Checking in, three weeks into IF. Down 3.1 pounds so definitely slowed, but still happy. This past week I experimented with eating out more so not as in control of what’s going into my food so I imagine that’s the reason for the stall. Just don’t know what salt and fat is being added. But the IF is easy at this point.

That’s great progress! What hours did you settle on for fasting vs eating?

Roughly from 6 p.m. until 10 a.m. I could for sure go longer, but because I work out at 11 most days, I want something before then. I’ve tried working out without something in my stomach, and it didn’t go well.

A couple of days ago I hit a 500 day streak of closing all the rings on my Apple watch - exciting! So that means I have had my watch for like 502 days now! LOL. Clearly the visual of hitting those daily marks is motivating.

Weather and outdoor pavement time has been rough the last couple of weeks here in Ohio. A VERY brief respite this morning - I was able to run AND take pup for a walk starting at 6am when it was low 40’s. We’ll hit 50’s but a wind advisory has started and tons of rain and maybe snow coming for the next 36 hours or so. Thrilled to get the run in and NOT have frozen body parts from being outside!

I’m with you on the rings! I’ve been known to hop on the stationary bike at 11:40 to get the final 30 calories or so. I did miss a couple of days here and there after my shingles shots and with Covid vax reactions. I finally got wise and worked out the morning of my boosters, though once it didn’t help for the next day, when I was wiped out.

Good night of soccer last night. Temperatures weren’t great-- the wind was coming off the river so it was pretty chilly.

That’s fantastic! Keep up the good work.

I’m leaving on Friday to go out of town on some personal business so I ran my long run today - 11 miles. I would not normally go that long but I’m training for a half on March 20. Didn’t really track pace until it was over, but it was not bad. Hilly route, glad it’s over.

I’m also heading out of town too, so I’m trying to get all my “heavy lifting” out of the way before I leave town. I do plan to take my weighted vest and do some Murph-type exercises over the long weekend.

Oly lifting Monday, heavy deadlift and bench press day yesterday (5x3 each at 80%) and today is a back squat day up to around 80% for some reps.

The place where we’ll be going to has some nice trails, so I plan to do some trail running this weekend.

I may do a Spartan race in March and a powerlifting meet in May.

I’m also going out of town this weekend. We are visiting the Petersburg Battlefield. Have a roughly 10 mile hike planned for Saturday and a shorter one planned for Sunday

and Im not going out of town this weekend! Younger S and GF are coming here. S’ big bday is next week, so I guess he either wants to be spoiled, or the weekend before you turn 21 is not very fun. May as well spend it with parents!

Looking to have another bigger mileage running week, though it might get cut back if it’s thunderstorming tomorrow morning. Looks like next week has a lot of rain too. Blah. Hopefully it won’t freeze again. Tired of saturated frozen glazed pavement. And while it’s warming up, temps keep swinging wildly. Most of my runs were in the low to mid 20s. Today? Mid 50s and tomorrow morning will be the 60s before swinging back to the 20s…

Do you run on that glazed pavement? I am hugely afraid of ice! If so, do you use grips on your shoes?

Most of the time it’s right at 32-34 when I start, so it’s ok when I start and the freezes up as I go along and the temps drop. And then it happens in patches at first. It doesn’t just go from all ok to not ok in a min. If I know it’ll be solid ice before I go out, then I sleep in. I would love to be able to get back to the gym, but I’m trying to wait until the case count is below at least 50 a day per 100K. Yesterday we were still > 100. sigh

And I don’t have anything special for my shoes

Man, I don’t trust myself to see all the patches! I have to walk the dog no matter what the conditions but even walking when threat of ice makes me tense!

Feeling kinda down when I woke up and didn’t want to get up. Just felt/feel old and slow. But I ran 0.25-0.3 miles further in the same amount of time as last Saturday, so I guess that’s something. Just want it to be a mile further! Baby steps I guess.

Lifting is going ok. My lower body movements have been getting better. Upper body not really, but that was pretty strong before I guess. I like the program, but the main two lifting days a week are all the same lifts. Just different order, sets, and reps. I’m not used to that anymore. After 12 weeks, I’ll be ready to try the other program and do something new. The third lifting day is a power day. I’m enjoying that even though I stink at it. Same with the mobility/corrective exercise work.

Sorry you were feeling down, but you got out of bed and did it so what a victory! And the numbers don’t lie so awesome that you increased your speed.

I did a dumbbell day yesterday but didn’t love it. I find myself very hit-and-miss on how I feel about dumbbell day. There def are some exercises I like more than others.

Seriously underestimated distance for today. My 10 mile quote above didnt include exploring side trails at individual tour stops. Main hike ended up being over 12. We did 2 more stops si total distance for the day is just over 13 miles. Toss in other walks and i hit 30K in my fitbit
