Flights?

Who is planning on racking up frequent flyer miles next year?

I was checking flights to NYC from Ohio and OMG they are crazy expensive. I don't know how I'll afford them. I'm barely getting to NYU!

It can't be THAT expensive...where are you flying out of, Cincinnati (can't spell that city's name)?

i'm flying from los angeles to new york and back and so forth and i've gotten tickets for orientation, move-in, and winter vacation. i say the best way is buy the tickets ahead of time

Getting tickets ahead of time is the best way to get good deals but be careful about booking flights for times like winter break before you know what your exam schedule is. I know kids who did that who regretted it when the times didn't work out.

Hmm.. Try to get tickets from those Asian travel agents....
Lot cheaper than Orbitz or priceline......

Maybe I'll get my ticket for move in at least.

Are you all planning on getting there on the 28th? or earlier and staying somewhere? I'm nervous about bringing all my stuff and it being crazy trying to find my room and such (I'm GSP so I won't have had anything in June before).

when does the orientation start exactly?
it says 3 days before classes begin so september 2nd?
if the domestic flights are so expensive I dont want to know how much those from Europe cost:))

Not sure, but we're supposed to be there by either the 27th or 28th (don't remember which) b/c that's when welcome week starts.

I'm going up on the 25th (from Texas).

Move in day is always the last Sunday in August, which this year will be the 27th. They'll tell you that you can start moving in at 9 A.M. Don't believe that, get there earlier or you'll be in line for hours. On the Sunday they'll have a gathering for parents and then you'll probably have an activity with the others on your floor. Actual orientation/welcome week events begin Monday and last all week.
