Now that my entire college process is over, I thought I'd come back and share my UF experience. For me, I thought UF was a lock. Not because of arrogance, but because all my relatives in FL told me so. Ignorantly, I believed them. However, come February, I got quite a surprise. I was flat out rejected with a 33 ACT, 3.87 GPA, 5 AP's, Good EC's, etc.

When I posted a thread before about my rejection, I got many responses from people who knew others that were denied at UF but accepted at other top schools. Of course, at the time, I thought this was foolery. No way could a kid be rejected at UF but accepted to Harvard.

Fast forward to March 25th and quite possibly the best thing ever happened to me - I was accepted to UVA as an OOS student. I just want to tell everyone on the UF board thanks. I really thought after I was rejected at UF I was totally screwed. But everyone was right - admissions really are a lottery. As a quintuple legacy at UF, I still have to say GO GATORS and good luck to all the freshmen next year in Gainesville.
