Hi, i'm planning to transfer to these school as an international student for Computer Science.
Anyone give me some advises about :
-University of Iowa
-Iowa State University
-Florida State University
-Virginia Tech
I want school that:
_Has beautiful campus with green grass field, with blue sky that can lay down to study
_Modern Building, not very Old or Ancient, i'm not a big fan of royal style building.
_Good Dorms
_Girls
_Social Life, easy to make friend, sometime party, not too much boy, i mean somewhere with hot, cute girl .
_Good curriculum at Computer Science. i mean school that party and Study not party all the time
_Sports, marching band, something like that
Thanks guys by the way

I mean no offense by this, but you might want to get your priorities in order.

Are you planning on going to one of those universities to learn, or to get laid? Because from the sound of it, you sound like you care more for getting laid than about the school…

LOL Pasbal.

Years ago Steve Martin used to do a skit on Saturday Night where he played a foreigner that was dressed in 70’s style clothing (think Satuday Night Fever) and would repeat over and over that he wanted “big American (fill in the blank).” The OP reminded me of that.

Also, what are “royal buildings?”

OP- the weather is different in Tallahassee than in the other places you mention. Is that a consideration for you?

Also, there are girls and sports at all of the schools you mention, so perhaps you should research what each school has to offer with regard to your intended major.

I’m not trying to deny that “certain activities” don’t occur in college, because they do. But it just seems like the OP is making it sound like he’s more concerned about those “certain activities” than about his education.

I won’t deny that there are very hot girls at FSU either… because there are.

Our sports teams are pretty decent, too, although trying to be anything more than a fairweather fan is going to frustrate you to no end.

And the Marching Chiefs are pretty great too. But I might be biased as a former band geek…

Tks Pasbal, but i don’t drink, i don’t smoke. i’m a decent boy =)) literally. I just like to watch people walking and walking pass me… i just want to pick a school with mild weather, lots of outdoor activities. i’m sure that you don’t want to stick in your room hold day.
So in your guys’s opinions, which one is suitable for me

Take the FSU virtual tour, it will give you a sense of the campus:

[FSU Visitor Center](<a href=“FSU Visitor Center | Error 404 page not found”>http://www.visit.fsu.edu/)

Use College Navigator to determine the make up of the undergrads:

[College Navigator - Florida State University](<a href=“College Navigator - Search Results”>College Navigator - Florida State University)

For example, FSU is 55% female/45% male; 3% Foreign countries, etc…

You can find this same info for the other schools on their websites and in College Navigator. Once you’ve reviewed all of this info, post any specific FSU questions in this forum.

Good Luck!

I really do mean no offense, but that just sounds kind of creepy.

FSU has a number of outdoor activities, and there’s pretty much always something going on that you can get involved in and meet people.

As for the weather, FL weather is hardly mild during the summer. In Tallahassee it can regularly hit 100 degrees during the summer. The winters are mild compared to the northern US (I think Tallahassee only gets to freezing- 32F- about 10-12 times a year?), but if you’re from somewhere warm they will be a bit of a shock. Of course, Iowa and Virginia have even worse winters, as they get a lot of snow, and there’s rarely any in FL.

As far as the architecture goes, FSU is not exactly “modern.” It’s classic, collegiate-looking brick buildings – quite pretty, but not particularly modern looking. If you want to attend school that looks like a modern office park, go to UCF.

100 degrees regularly? The heat index maybe, but the actual temperatures usually don’t get higher than the mid-nineties. It just feels like it does because of the high humidity and UV.

[Tallahassee Climate Summary for 2011](http://www.srh.noaa.gov/tae/?n=climate_2011review)
It hits 100 degrees somewhat regularly during the summer- here it hit 100 roughly once a week. Many other days have highs in the mid to upper 90s and then heat indices can top 100 even more frequently.
2012 only had 1 day of 100+ highs, but the timeframe when those generally occur was when two tropical storms impacted the area and limited that.

I guess regularly can be a slight exaggeration, but it does happen. It seems like so long ago, but when I had Orientation the highs were all 102+… it was hot as hell.

Tks Pasbal but my family has decided to move texas because it’s too cold in Iowa in winter, my mom can’t stand anymore =]]] if u can, give me some advises here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1539167-advise-about-university-texas-georgia.html
