food?

have a flying visit to iu end of this month. will not have time to eat on campus (which we try to do normally) any thoughts on the quality of food at IU? best or worst dining halls?

Wright and Gresham are the best dining halls I have eaten at. Bistro has good sandwiches, but that’s about it. Eigemann (where I lived) is not very good after the 50th time eating there, but it is convienient if you live there.

maxcellis is right–Wright and Gresham are highest rated for regular food courts. A lot of students also grab morning or lunchtime snacks at the Wells Library Common Cafe (food court at the main library).

As far as popular places for students around town to grab snacks–off campus, not on-campus: Opie Taylor’s, Nick’s, and Kilroy’s are the ones I know about.

And then there are the top-end restaurants that parents like to visit (or take their students to) when they go visit IU-B. These are–Restaurant Tallent, The Farm, Malibu Grill, and the Tudor Room at the student union. (This group of restaurants will, obviously, cost quite a bit more than the ones listed in the first two paragraphs above.)

thanks! …

where is a good place to eat in northwest?

Gresham is a good place to eat in the northwest.

which dorm is that in?

Gresham is at Foster

I have to add one restaurant to the ones on here: Michael’s Uptown Cafe.

Having eaten at this place, plus Malibu Grill, plus the Farm, plus the Tutor Room this past weekend–I find the Uptown Cafe to be best by a small bit, then Malibu, then Tallent and the Farm (these last two cost much more than the first two also–at least over the graduation weekend), and then the Tutor Room–which is primarily known for its atmosphere as opposed to its food.

Didn’t get to Opie Taylor’s, but my son says it has the best hamburgers in town.

P.S. Yes, I did go on a diet starting today–and will attempt to lose the 5 pounds I gained during the past week.
