I have an incoming freshman son and have heard that many students dress up in garnet and black for the games. Where I'm from we just wore jeans and t-shirts... Any help is much appreciated!

Some people dress up but really anything goes…however I will highly recommend shorts since it will be hot for first few home games (in fact I got my worse football sun burn at a November game). Of course a school t-shirt is good! Sometimes the football team will ask the students to wear garnet or black specifically as kind of school spirit thing.

School colors are always appropriate and jeans and tshirts are good too. Sometimes in the South people “dress” for the games but the majority of people come comfy cause it’s HOT at the beginning of the season!

All of my friends (none of them are sorority girls) dress up for the games! We were black dresses (that’s the typical thing for girls) and cowboy boots are really popular. Guys tend to wear khakis, bow ties, polos… that sort of thing.

I think fewer guys dress up than girls. But I’d still say it’s a majority. The only time my friends and I go down to a t-shirt and jeans are when it’s COLD.

There’s always the option for guys of no shirt, several friends, an lots of paint to spell out USC or, as at the Georgia game last year, Carolina Gamecocks! :)

The typical dress for guys is a garnet or black polo (can get them at the bookstore), khaki shorts, and boat shoes or sneakers.

CockNotTrojan got it right. A Garnet or Black USC Under Armour polo, khaki shorts and boat shoes is the typical male attire.
