you become one.

yeah who knows maybe i'll get into it if i go there. but are you pretty much sitting alone in your dorm room if you dont enjoy football? basketball is a different story btw

naw not really. I mean even the most diehard fans are basically only going to be busy doing football stuff on gamedays and also maybe the pep rally the night or two before.

But even if you're not a football fan you might find the pep rallies fun, the band and song girls etc are there and it's pretty exciting...

Otherwise, it's not more than a few hours per week. There are always a few students not going to watch the games so you can find someone to hang with. Worst case you could also just do homework or laundry or stuff you have to do anyways and free up time to spend with friends later.

pretty much...

But I mean you'd have to be pretty determined to the point of specifically disliking football to not have a good time. You step right outside your dorm room and there are hundreds of people tailgating in McCarthy Quad. You walk a little further and there are another few hundred people near Tommy. Then a steady stream of people heading to the ballpark; some people with body paint, hot girls walking around with very little on, etc etc. And you'd want to stay in your dorm room? Not likely.

We had our S buy the Spirit Card so he could attend whatever sporting events he wanted to (he happens to like sports). We would have purchased it even if he didn't like sports (at least for the 1st year), because it is a part of the college experience & the dorms often go & sit together by floors (if folks don't make other arrangements to go with their friends independently). It's really a nice social event--of course it helps that the team is awesome & usually plays a good game & wins. :)
I'd suggest if you can swing it financially, you at least try attending several games in your freshman year & then decide. It would be a pity to miss the opportunity & never know what you missed until it's too late.

how much are tickets...?

Last year, for $135, you could attend any & all USC home events, I believe. This coming year, I believe it will be $135 for football tickets alone (all home games), which is still an incredible deal for USC games, as they're generally sold out & MUCH higher for non-students.
