^ Hmm might be a little bit of a reach but i’d say you’re still within range. The high number of applications would probably bring their stats up a bit but I wouldn’t give up just yet. The admissions process at colleges like Binghamton can be quite random at moments and if you’re in the general range of scores for admitted students you still have a chance.

I have similar SAT scores and EC’s but a lower GPA, so the odds are probably not going to work in our favor this year. However that doesn’t mean an acceptance is impossible.

t0510:
I was waitlisted after being deferred with a 1310/1970, 94 GPA , 6 Ap’s, Ap scholar with honor , Treasurer of Nat Honor Society, etc… Good luck

i was rejected today. 3.6 gpa i expected it to be competetive, especially with the economic crisis, and with finding out kids with 98 averages were being rejected, plus i applied to their best program, their school of management. o well

yeah you have a chance…i have close to the same credentials. I had a 1200/1790 on the sat, with mediocre sat2’s…i took 2 ap’s last year and 4 this year. My gpa is a 3.7 unweighted and 4.0 weighted with good extra curriculars. it seems like they accepted people below me, and rejected people above me. They must have looked into the essays and recommendations to see what the people were really like.

Dear lord they were supposed to mail it out on the 1st i still haven’t got anything! I’m about to tell them i just dont want to hear back, they can go screw themselves!!!

I applied as a transfer in December and called the admissions office yesterday; they have yet to review my application. Yet, my friend who applied on March 12 has already received an acceptance. They are driving me CRAZY!!!

idk gylpha im kinda ****ed off. i had about a 3.6 after one semester, made the deans list, got invited into the phi eta sigma national honor society and had 36 credits. i got rejected, but yea i applied to SOM their most competitive school

I’m a transfer student and haven’t heard back yet either, despite applying months ago I called the admissions office and they said they should be sending out notification within the next two weeks. I am beginning to get paranoid, I have a 3.5 cumulative gpa (maybe that’s not high enough for them), but with an upward trajectory. Last semester I got a 3.94 and I’ve been on the Dean’s list the past couple of semesters. I also thought I wrote a solid essay, but hey, oh well. At this point I wish they’d send a rejection rather than nothing, not knowing is stressful. So I feel the pain of all of you who haven’t heard back yet.

If you haven’t heard yet, you can call admission office and they tell you over the phone. They did for me. MY son applied EA then was deferred until RD. My son was rejected…great SATs, great GPA, EC’s, APs…the recession hit the applicants hard this year. So many applying to state schools. Really glad he applied to SUNY Albany, which he was admitted and received the Presidential Scholarship…so that’s where he is going :)

Historically, this year may have been one of the hardest to get into a SUNY. I’m hearing now that even the community colleges in the NYC/Westchester area have waitlists!

bringing this to the first page. has anyone for class of 2014 tried this? when i enter by BU ID and PIN i’m eligible to make a payment for Harpur Undeclared UG 2010

I’ve tried it… I’m not eligible to make a payment. Apparently my status is still “not entered”. I called; they have all my stuff but haven’t made a decision yet.

If you don’t mind me asking, when did you submit your app, CID2010? I think you got in; congrats?

First, I’m an idiot…last night I glossed over the first page of the thread and then came to the last. So when I went into the status checker I didn’t see any option to make a payment and in the FA section there wasn’t anything for 2010/2011. This morning, thankfully, I clicked on the link on page 1 of this thread and lo and behold, the “You are currently eligible to pay a tuition deposit towards the following program(s): Fall 2010 Harpur Undeclared UG” appeared!

My S applied back in October which is why I decided to read the thread and follow the instructions more carefully! Can’t wait to tell him the positive sign although we will not be counting our chickens just yet! He was worried about getting into Bing given the high number of apps this year and even more so because H and I went there. Good luck to all! :)
