Daughter Accepted Regular Decision 2-21

My daughter's regular decision acceptance letter came in the mail today. It's a green and white envelope and says "You're the 1 we want" on the outside. It says "You have been selected from over 27,000 applicants for one of only 2,000 seats in the freshman class."

Congrats!!, still waiting for mine.........

When did she submit her application though?

Congrats!! Is Binghamton really THAT selective? Becuase I am getting worried that its my safety =)

Jk, saw your other post on another thread. Congrats to your daughter!

Wow congrats! I'm wondering when I'll get my decision... I applied to Bing thinking it was my "safety" but now I'll be THRILLED to get in!
Should I have put that my sister is a Bing alum on my application? I didn't mention it...

Binghamton is very selective, more so for in-state. Contact your local state politicians now. This must be changed. OOS do not deserve to get in with lower SATs/GPAs.

Kay, I am a New Yorker and I may or may not get in. If out of state students can bring more funds into the university then I dont have a problem with it. It isnt like they are admitting people with substandard scores, unless of course they are basketball players. If you really want to express outrage, express outrage over the university admitting felons, and thugs just to win a few basketball games.

Yep, I would amend my application and mention the big sister for sure. Call the admissions office ask how to add it to application form.

Thanks doonvarn, I actually just sent an email to my regional admissions officer telling her that my sister is an alum and asking about the honors program.

good luck, maybe we will see each other in the fall :)

Maybe so, hopefully they'll be like "ooh a Binghamton family!" haha
Though she was class of '00 so I doubt it will really help...

all alumni applications are stamped VIP and are approached from both regular admissions reps and alumni reps....no, it can''t get you in, but it can give you a bump if you are on the fence.....

:) I am out of state and I got in. I know several NY residents who have better scores and grades than me and got in.

:) Take that.

Hahahahaha

PShap91, wanna room with me? :)

I still havent heard. Do you think it means that the news will not be good? I will be so bummed. I applied in December.

I haven't heard anything yet either...and I applied in December too.
I've been waiting for that big green envelope since the beginning of this week, but still nothing. =/

Alright, what state are you from?

I haven't heard either... :-\ and I live in NY (applied late Dec.) I just got my decision from Geneseo today, and a lot of friends are getting their decisions from other SUNYs so hopefully I'll get something in the mail soon.
