Topic question. What are you opinions about the econ programs of either of these schools? I would like to specifically major in econ and then perhaps go to law school. I've heard good things about NYU's prog and job placement, what is GW's like? I would like to get into government work at some point as well, which is why I applied to GW, but if the econ program is not that strong...

Intangibles: $10k/year less to attend NYU, and I've been accepted into the honors programs of both schools.

Thanks in advance.

I got accepted to both GW(CAS) and NYU (CAS) and I'm going to NYU. I am also majoring in econ and NYU has an amazing program. Plus the job opportunities working in NYC, how can you get any better?

Yeah, after doing some research and attempting to find info on the GW program...NYU has taken a big lead. I especially like their 5-year BA/MA program for econ. I'm gonna visit the NYU one more time before I make my final decision to make sure I like the feel of the college, but unless something drastic happens, I'll be choosing NYU's program.

It's all about location- GWU is great for International programs and polysci stuff, but how can you top working in the financial capital of the world if you're studying econ?
