for JUNIORS (class of '08) who are ready to get onto the PERILOUS ROAD.

4 IMPORTANT THINGS Juniors should be focusing on:

GPA

Extracurricular Activities- Don't STOP! Junior year is your last chance to do something that will have a lasting impact. Also, FOCUS on 1-2 areas of interest (e.g. I am a political maniac, so I started the first politics club on campus and organized a series of school wide activities that have lasting effects. In fact, I devoted my entire junior year just for this single EC, and of course, along with a few side-dish activities like cross country running, etc...just to have some fun)

SATs (pretty self explanatory)- If you do find time, PRACTICE. No excellence can be acquired without CONSTANT practice.

"Good relations with the Wookies I have," exclaimed Master Yoda. Now, by Wookies, I am referring to your school teachers. Good relations (plus outstanding academic performance in their classes) you will have with these people, since anyone of them could be a potential referee for your recommendation letters. For instance, spare some time and have a few casual conversations (about anything) with your teachers once in a while, and just give them a chance to know you better, so they'd at least have something to write about when the time comes.

All in all, good luck Juniors. Use this year wisely! (I used to be such a big procrastinator...sigh)

hello..........?

How is everything going for everybody?

this thread is much quieter compared to the gigantic one we had last year...

yanners: at least you are going into it thinking the MATH IIC will be difficult, better than underestimating it

also, don't spazz out 'so so' much because the curve for the test is fantastic, you can lose 7 raw points and still get a 800 on most versions... (however, there is a chance you will omit 7 ^^; so... that might balance it out).
