I despise science theoneo, so no. I'm applying as an econ major (intended) because UMich doesn't let you go directly to finance. :)

^I love econ. What other schools do you plan on applying to?

NYU(Stern), Babson/Bentley (safety), Carleton (just to satisfy my mom), UChicago, UIUC (finance), UMD (finance), UVA (McIntire), etc.

I'll post the link to my chances thread. :)

Uchicago is awesome ... I hope I can get in if I get rejected from my #1 choice, wharton.

I entertained the idea of applying to Wharton for awhile...until I realized that my GPA and SAT are in like the 3rd percentile for Wharton.

My chances thread:

Dude ( I'm assuming), apply to wharton, at least for the hell of it, you never know, you just might get accepted.

Yes, I'm a guy. I played with that notion for a while with Cornell. "They might accept me out of total shock." Sure whatever. :(

I love UChicago. It's tied as my second favorite school.

Eek. Almost down to the third page.

Bumpity.

whats you're number one choice theoneo?... it mght be posted somewhere in this thread but I'm just way too lazy to read.

Yale. I think I've posted it about 1490148 times haha. And I post on the Yale board regularly. Well, just the Word Association thread. :p

I was about to ask what yours is, but I figured I'd be just LITTLE not lazy and scroll up, and voila.

This thread needs a topic.

its yale.

I was wondering would those "state funded" summer camps help me with college admission at all. Anyway, its an aerospace summer camp held at our state university. Its not prestigious at all.

i rather put more hrs on hospital intership in Taiwan over the summer. what do u guys think?
i plan to become a doctor someday

plan A:
5 days aerospace summer academy + 100 hrs hospital internship

plan B:
150 hrs hospital intership

plan C:
150 hrs stock exchange company (dunno if thats the right term)

Personally, I don't believe there's a huge difference between 100 hours and 150 hours. Choose the one from which you're likely to learn the most from. For example, if you have no interest in aerospace, it'd be better to just put in more hospital hours, especially if you want to go into medicine.

Are you interning at a stock exchange company or...?

yea, thats plan C

betterday55: How did you arrange that, especially when you live 1500 miles from NYC?

wow plan C sounds amazing, at least to me, I'd say do that one.

theoneo: hahaha, yep, sorry about that I was just feeling lazy this morning and chose watching tv over searching this thread for your number one choice.... Yale is pretty cool, I'll probably apply there just for the hell of it, doubt I'll have much of a chance.

Plan C does sound amazing. However, make sure it's what you want to do or something you'd be interested in doing.

its not new york stock exchange. hahaha, okay its in Taiwan. Its very well known in Taiwan, but no where near NY level i guess i didn't use the right term?

I do believe its the right term...a stock exchange doesn't necessarily have to be in NY...

okay. so everyone thinks i should go with Plan C? I don't think its THAT amazing, i'll most likely end up doing filing works .
I'm going to go ahead and apply for the hospital intern. It is uncommon to have high school students work in the hopital in Taiwan. so i might have to elaborate more. Crap...i have to write in Chinese.........haven't read a chinese book in 2 years (cept for bible).
