for south asian applicants...

I know its pretty tough and very competitive among south asians when applying for stanford
you think it'll work out in my favor for being Bangladeshi? since it's not your typical Indian or pakistani? in the section of form 1 for my application, i'm checking asian american, and in the smaller boxes, i'm checking both "south asian" and "other", specifying "Bangladeshi" in the blank

wise decision? yes? no? or it really wont make much a difference? that's what i figure...

do it. It can't hurt. But, remember, it's not simply your ethnicity. It's what your exprience brings to the table, BECAUSE of your ethnicity. Gotta SHOW that, not just by checking a couple of boxes

I would only choose South Asian if I were you.

I am a Pakistani-American, and I am only choosing South Asian without explaining anything. South Asia is pretty narrow. I would only specify a country if it was "Asian/Pacific Islander." South Asia is already specific enough.

P.S. I thought it was really cool to read South Asian American, it was the first time I have seen it on a college app.
