My mom literally told me I'm not going to get into the UCLA with the scores I got...

720 on USH and 720 on Bio M...

Will these hurt my chances of getting in?
I'm really worried, and I don't have a chance to retake. I'm taking the SAT I in June again, aiming for a 2200+ cause I got a 2100 the first time I took it.
I will be taking Math II in the fall, just because I did horribly when I took it.

Any opinions?

Please understand that your scores are very GOOD. Do not be discouraged by your mom. I highly doubt schooling for her was as competitive as nowadays. Be proud of those scores. I happened to get 720 on the USH test too, but unfortunately, I got a 580 on the Math II. But you know what? I’m very proud of myself for getting that 720. It’s a great score. Really. As four your SAT I, you’re already really high up there. My school has some pretty bright people, and they’re at 2100, or below. So you at least beat my whole class.

ucla is a crappy party school where anyone from cali can get in (the "selectiveness exists only for oos students)
but no really, people at my school with abysmal sat scores…well like 1800s all got in, and no they weren’t urm,
i mean, ucla is one of the top party schools in the country with the “hottest” girls and it’s in california, do you REALLY think it is that hard to get in?? no. reality check time =]

saying that ucla is a crappy party school… ur wrong
i know many more ppl who got rejected from la but got into berkeley

In state, you’re 100% fine.

OOS, they might hurt you a little bit, but your SAT is more important anyway.

***?! “crappy party school”?!

y dont u try telling that to all the 4.0+/1800+/well-rounded students that were rejected?
LA is not 100% for anyone lol

@OP: what major are you looking at?

Are you joking pigsatsea? UCLA is not “a crappy party school where anyone from cali can get in.”

So anyone know what an good score for Berkeley would be?
