Just realized @MiniGrace11 already answered my question! Shows how great my memory is haha (:
I think the reveal date is March 20th. On top of that, it’s my NEXT one. So I have two months to wait until I even get another confirmation XD
The great thing about this forum is that I never intended it to be a forum for all the people of TFT to come and talk about it, but it’s become that and that’s just awesome. You guys are awesome!
@NickFraser98 Are you saying that March 20th is when they’ll tell us when decisions come out? I hope these next two months go by quickly! But not TOO quickly lol. And hopefully more applicants hop on the thread so they can join in our anxiety lol.
For me (a freshman) they come out on March 20 or so. I don’t know the deal for transfers
@northremembers yeah, March 20th for freshman ONLY, transfers…it’s a game of chance with us. We get our admissions letters AFTER the freshman. So at least we know the date is after March 20th! Ugh, I’m sp nervous! UCLA is the only school I want to go to! I just walked around the campus yesterday because honestly, that school has felt like home since the first time I toured there.
GUYS! APPLICATIONS ARE UNDER REVIEW
The supplementals have not been reviewed yet, but the initial applications are!
@MiniGrace11 Same, UCLA is the only school I want to go to too, so I guess we’re in the same boat!
Yikes, I hope my application looks good enough to them, although I’m pretty sure it’s the supplemental that will really be the determining factor.
March 20. I’m personally terrified.
I’m applying as a freshman too. It seems that TFT would give audition at the early Feb, as I found it did so on Feb 9, 2016. Since it only interviews 30 applicants among freshman pool, I guess it’s a good sign to see our possibility of admission. :-*
Oops…I miss the message. If no interview…definitely a hard time…
congratulations @AlastairYang !!! you got this!!!
hey, @NickFraser98, how does your supplemental application page look? have they started reviewing yours yet? Mine still just says submitted but I guess they have to review my initial application first since that’s the first step. I figured that since Freshman get accepted in March, the might have already started looking at your TFT work right about now.
@AlastairYang I’m assuming you’re a theater major?
@MiniGrace11 Haha, actually no. I applied for Film.
@MiniGrace11 it currently says mine is only submitted.
@AlastairYang My mistake, haha. I just thought because you mentioned an audition, you would be in the theater program. @NickFraser98 oh… same. we’ll I guess they’re still just getting started on the initial apps. Ugh, the anticipation is awful :’(
Hi guys!! I’m applying as a freshman and I’ve been invited for an interview! Any tips to prepare?
Wow, congratulations @elise22199 !! That’s a great sign!
Unfortunately I cannot give any specific advice since I haven’t done a college/film school interview myself yet. But, I’m sure that if you just be yourself and show that you have a good personality you’ll do fine! A little research couldn’t hurt though. Try searching for some online blogs or articles written by other people who have done freshman interviews for film programs. Good luck! And be sure to let us know how the interview goes (:
Thank you so much @northremembers !! Best of luck to you in all your college endeavors!
Hi, everyone! I figure I should at least answer the OP’s questions!
For my personal essay, I wrote about how my dad is a caterer for various TV shows, and going on set to feed people mashed potatoes and the like was really exciting for me. My challenge essay discussed how having a bakery business at home is difficult sometimes (I’m beginning to realize now that a lot of my essays were centered around food…). As for my creative sample, I submitted a 5-page short story explaining why people get deja vu.
Best of luck to you all!
