Which order are you guys checking your decisions ? Are you checking your top choice ivy decision first and working your way down the "food chain" or are you working your way up ? Also what method are you planning on checking them ? I applied to 3 so I was thinking about having 3 tabs open on my browser so I can check them back to back. I know this it isn't all that serious but its something to think about while I wait for decisions.

I’m going to work my way up

Does it matter? Why not assume the worst (which is all rejections) and embrace the surprise that might happen?

or you can open all of them in tabs at once and keep on refreshing until the decision comes out.

I’m checking Yale first because I’ll be least upset by a rejection by Yale. I expect a rejection, hope for a waitlist. I’m checking Brown second, because I think I have a better chance. I’m checking Dartmouth last because it’s closest to my heart. I like Dartmouth the most, and I can see myself most at Dartmouth out of the three ivies I applied to.

Hopefully UVA comes out this Friday. If it does and I’m accepted, I honestly will not even check my Ivy decisions. If not, it will go Harvard –> Dartmouth –> Penn –> Cornell.

Working my way up from Cornell.

If I move down from Harvard or Yale, i would first of all most likely get rejected (probably will be at cornell as well but there is at least higher chance of acceptance there) and the whole thing will be anticlimactic.

Also, if I work my way down, I would be holding onto a desperate hope that “at least the next one will accept me” all the way down to Cornell.

If I get into Cornell, then great, at least I’ve gotten into one of my top choices and can relax with the other ones. If I get rejected, then I can brace myself for the upcoming rejections.

I’m working my way up (with a box of tissues beside me). Hopefully I at least get into one of the six I applied to, that would be awesome. I’m going from Dartmouth to Yale to Cornell to UPenn to Brown to Harvard.

I think I’m going to check Yale last because it’s my first choice.

I think I will check my top choice in the middle, so if I get rejected to the first schools, I will have a bit of hope still, and if I get rejected to my dream school, I still have a little bit of hope left of other acceptances. :)

Upenn(likelied so just checking first)-Cornell-Dartmouth-Brown-Yale-Harvard

Working my way up. Expecting 5 rejections…

Will check my second choice first (Brown) too scared about my first choice- Columbia (I applied to Cornell as well but I am in an English boarding school and we have censored internet and for some reason the cornell website is blocked… sucks but guess will have to wait till I go back home for holidays-cornell probably doesn’t send the decision in the email does it? ) Good luck to everyone!!!

@annabohac you can’t have anyone back at home check your Cornell decision for you ?

My parents can’t speak english so it would probably be too difficult… but I am coming home on the 7th of april so it’s just an extra week or so… who knows …might be exciting to find the big envelope in the mail :D

Yea it would be nice to come home to an acceptance letter from Cornell, well best of luck !

Brown has to be last or if I get rejected I won’t be able to stop crying long enough to check the rest! That was a joke, but seriously I think I’m going to do it Dartmouth–>Yale–>Harvard–>Princeton–>Brown. Dartmouth is more maybe-ish and Yale and Harvard are definite unlikelys, but I had an excellent Princeton interview (does this matter?) and Brown is my dearest…

I’m trying to be optimistic and not expect the worst.

I actually haven’t thought about this at all. I suppose I’ll check the emails first, just because I’ll need to get into my Inbox to find the emails with my login info for all the schools anyway.

Isn’t there already some thread about this?

^ not that I know of…
