For you guys that already got offers from UCs - How much financial aid you got?

Where are you guys getting these numbers? My EFC was 0, and it said i could get up to $5500 from pell grant. Yet, it seems like CAL grants haven’t even been awarded yet? Can someone please point me in the right direction of where to look or what i should expect?

I’ve been accepted to UCSD and UCI so far.

Thanks!

nevermind. i answered my own question.

I hate you all. My preliminary FinAid is $9,500. I am poor as hell and my parents will not help me. I wish I had 18k lol.

Where are you guys finding how much your preliminary gift aid is? For UCI I needed to submit a proof of citizenship…is that why it may not be showing up?

For UCSD I couldn’t find how much aid I will be getting, either, after checking MyApp

TIA!

Well I found out what the problem was, I had chosen the wrong university and taht is why SD has not given me my aid.

Changed it and re-submitted my FAFSA, does that mean I will be awarded less bc of the mistake?

When do we know if we got those scholarships we applied to when we did our application? So far, I just got grants. Did people already get notified? Thanks.

hey everyone who received money! my efc is pretty low so i’m expecting a comfortable amount, thank goodness. but just curious, on your guyses fafsa, did you guys check of on campus or off campus housing?

cause apparently your fin aid package will fluctuate between the two–typically checking off campus gets you less, but its proportional so no biggie.

just wondering! cause i checked off campus and am freaking out i won’t get enough to cover my need :[

also, for those of you guys who received an fin aid award, mind letting people know when you submitted your fafsa?

i submitted mine a week after march2 and am freaking out :[

I filled out “on campus” for all of the schools I applied to, and got a pretty decent amount of aid (~$18,000.) However, If I attend UCSD (which is likely the case,) I’m actually going to be living off campus, so I had to go in a change it on my FAFSA. I know I’ll probably get less, but at least it will be more accurate. I assume you’d get more if you clicked “Off campus” rather than “with parents/family,” right?

oh nice. yeah i think updating it is best, a few grand less is better than none!

and i think the the order is: On campus gets the most, off campus second most, and living with parent/relative is the least.

i clicked off campus, and im hoping to attend berkeley, and their off campus fin aid cost is around $8,000 as opposed to about 12/13,000 for on campus. no big deal really, it’d be proportional i think. And for off campus, i think they directly give you a check as opposed to just crediting it to the campus.

just wondering, when did you submit your fafsa?

I had to dig through my email inbox, but I submitted on February 20th.

omg thats so early :[ ( i appreciate you looking btw)!!!

do you/anyone think im gonna get dinged for submitting it a week late?! i had no idea we can estimate the numbers until we get the actual report :[[[[[[[[[[[!!!

I really wish I knew more having FAFSA submitted later than March 2nd. Perhaps someone else can chime in?

its says on UCIs financial aid website that u arent eligible for all grants if you submit it after the March 2nd deadline

[News and Announcements](http://www.ofas.uci.edu/content/News.aspx)

I think I submitted mine around January 28? I submitted a correction in February, as well.

I marked on campus for all of the schools I applied to.

How in the world do you guys know how much money you have already?! Award letters won’t be sent out for a while, right?

I’ve already been accepted into UCI, AND I submitted my fafsa before march 2 (with an efc of 0), but I don’t know where to look to find out how much UCI is offering me - where do I go???

UCSD
Total gift aid = $18,625
EFC = $2,900

solidblu: you go to UCI - Financial Aid - MyAid; and log in with the same username and password you used to check if you were admitted or not. Then when you log in click on My Aid Award. This will allow you to see how much loans and gift aid you will recieve.

sent in my Fafsa Feb 14th
EFC was in the 20k
All colleges I put On Campus
In state
UCSB: all loans :(

UCSD:

Gift Aid: something like 20k?
EFC: 5k ish xD
