Happy 1-Thanks.
Do you know about the mathematics/economics major in Fordham? It is good? Anything you know about it?

I applied to Rose Hill undecided and got accepted, but if I intend on majoring in business, do you think it will be feasible to transfer into the business school???

BU - Sorry, I don’t know a whole lot about math/econ. My S is in the business school. What I do know is that he liked his econ. profs. (has taken 5 econ. classes including a couple of upper level classes as electives), and he liked one of his two math profs. (he only took two intro courses so it may not reflect the math department as a whole). Can’t help you more than that.
NY - You should easily be able to move into the business school. If you are sure business is what you want, I’d call admissions after the holidays and ask them how to change it officially. Doing in sooner is better because being in the business school has a slight impact on the courses you will take freshman year (ex. you take math for business, you don’t take foreign language).
My son is very happy at Fordham --Congrats and good luck to you.

Question: I applied to 3 early action schools (two of which I received acceptances and one of which I am still waiting from) and Fordham was one of the two acceptances… I applied to Political Science at Lincoln Center but it doesn’t say I got my major… this has been the same case for my other EA acceptance at Tulane where I applied for Political Economy… for Early Action applicants do they tell you if you got your major next semester or do you have to declare it during sophomore year?

at Fordham you are accepted to the college, not to a major–you formally declare a major sometime before the end of your soph. year.

happy1: thank you, i will call admissions asap (:

Sick to my stomach…Still haven’t received anything AND Fordham’s my top choice.

Does anyone know how the pre-dental program at Fordham is?

i haven’t gotten anything yet. and all the kids in my town got acceptances on friday afternoon. do they send out rejection letters or what? because fordham is my first choice and i’m freaking out.

Me and my friends with last names later in the alphabetical order did not get our letters yet. My two friends with last names that start with (A) and (B) got their acceptance letters. I cant speak for myself but my friend who’s last name starts with (R) has unbelievable grades (Better then both of my other friends who got in) and he didnt hear anything. (Live in Nassau county on Long island.)

warrior. my last name is near the end of the alphabet and i found out on friday and i live across the country so i wouldnt think to much into that

warrior- my friend whose last name starts with a Z got her letter on friday and she lives in Nassau as well.

are all aceptance letters out? if still havent gotten the mail yet, does this mean rejected or deferred…?

Guys, I don’t think it’s related to the sequence of your last name. My last name begins with W and I got my acceptance letter on Friday. You would get it around these days.
Good luck to all of you!

Rejected in MA… was a huge reach but I thought what the hell, I’ll apply

Hey all! I was deferred, and it’s my top choice. I saw they mentioned writing a second essay, what should it be on? Just another common app essay?

So confused. I was assured that I would not only get accepted but would get money from Fordham and I was flat out denied. Do you know if there is an appealing process I can do? Fordham was very high up on my list.

Who assured you that you would be admitted and get $$?
