The normal last date for mailings is on the 15th which was a saturday this year. That means that the post office may be to blame. Please be patient. And please dont use my.fordham portal as anything remotely official about your application status. This question arises every year.

Linda: as stated several times in the threads, scholarships are awarded now, in February, in March/April. And please file the CSS and FAFSA because grants can be as high as some scholarships.

So sovereign, it would be terribly helpful if you could clarify a few things. :)

The Rose Hill Honors program is very small (35ish) and offers are extended to EA admits in January or February. Right?

Is admission even more holistic? My worry is that my essay (about living abroad) may not demonstrate any kind of hook or special talent, although it is humorous and, ahem, well-written. My extracurriculars show that I am rather dedicated to a sport and volunteering, but beyond that, I have yet to get to work inventing that startup and conquering my fear of heights in order to climb Kilimanjaro. My stats are solid (4.0/2340), but I am wondering if I should send the director a letter of interest.

Hi everyone. For the students who were accepted, on your application status online. Did it have an “x” next to a newly appeared row that asked for your mid year grades. I’m trying to determine if this means I got deferred to regular decision

got in with 3.28 gpa 2140 sat
no mid year tab
I have a status update that is highlighted in yellow and when I click on it it takes me to the acceptance letter.

I’m confused. S received his acceptance folder in the mail yesterday. He is a NMSF and ranked 1/242 in his class. There was nothing about scholarships, does that mean he didn’t get the NMSF scholarship or does that come later? We sent the Profile back in October. Is there anything else any of you are aware of that we need to send?

Fordham needs to review it’s acceptance notification process. Some of the more prestigious schools send their applicants a pin, log on info, date and time. You log in… accepted, denied, deferred - that’s it. Fordham has its applicants on max stress from Thanksgiving till now and some like me still have not received a response and the only thing that is somewhat of a warning sign is the X next to mid year grades. I hate to think what the bureaucracy is like if enrolled. I am falling out of love.

pushfwd, Fordham clearly states not to expect notification until mid to late December. Social networking creates an untenable situation for adcoms as they send out a handful of early notifications in what is a strategic move but creates confusion when it goes public. Sorry for your angst but I wouldnt hold it against the school.

I got in to Fordham College at Rose Hill! Here are my basic stats: 3.4 uw GPA, 31 ACT, Cuban, Illinois resident, and I have a lot of volunteer activities, some leadership, and ECs. Congrats everyone!

I was accepted into Fordham at Rose Hill as a Political Science major, pre-law. I am a Cuban/Hispanic California resident. My stats/ECs are as follows:

3.6 GPA uw, 4.1 weighted
1960 SAT
Four year varsity cheerleading
Two year varsity gymnastics
Member of National Charity League
Member of National, Math, Science, Spanish, and English honor societies
Created Debate Club
Summer internship on a Congressional campaign

Congratulations to those who were accepted, and good luck to those who have applied!

@dowzerw - I guess the only acceptable stance on this thread are compliments of Fordham and its selectivity. Oh bad bad bad social media…Taking your advice sitting by the fireside waiting for the postman to arrive. Thank you!!!

I still have yet to hear from Fordham in mail and email… Unlike some people, I do not have the red ‘x’ or a “Mid Year Report” tab on my portal. What does this mean?? Getting very anxious over here… as you can tell

Hang in there, Angel. It means you are not yet in or out. ;( You’ll know any day now. If you havent heard by Friday, you could probably check in with Fordham in case your application really got lost. Where are you located?

push, that was not at all what I suggested but take it as you will. I was just sharing personal experience and knowledge of how they have said they are handling it. bash away if it works for you.

@JuniorMint: I’m in a similar position! Look at the honors program section of the fordham.edu site if you’d like more information.
I’m not sure what the size will be, because one of the Campaign for Fordham’s goals (according to the site) is to increase NMS participation in the program and to provide them with more scholarships. What Nasuti and the honors board are looking for, according to the admissions board, is “students who are intellectually alive,” so academics is only a part of the decisions process; and even if your essay doesn’t have a ‘hook’, your correspondence with the program administration and your application will. (They’re not looking for a one-trick horse). And remember, many students may turn down the offer, or you can appeal freshman year, so you have a good shot if you really want it and feel you deserve it.

I’m almost certain I never got an email from Fordham confirming that they received my application, yet I sent everything in mid October. Also the common app says my application was downloaded. I tried emailing Fordham but they never responded…so…I hope they got my application. Did this happen to anyone else?
