Fordham Class of 2013/2017

I was selected to the honors program. It’s definitely an honor but I never expressed any interest nor did I contact anybody at Fordham. Not sure Fordham is an affordable option yet until April.

Thanks, Junior Mint and congrats again!

Congrats Airforce and JuniorMint! I got invited too and I’m so excited.

Side note/query: does anyone know if the Rose Hill honors students usually spend their freshman year in the same residential college? I’d like to apply for Queen’s Court, and I imagine that’d be where most would stay.

Congratulations to all who were invited to join the Honors Program! It is a great program and Dr. Nasuti is a wonderful man. If you go to the accepted students day in April, I suggest that you attend the Honors reception which is in Alpha House. You will get to meet Dr. Nasuti and will be able to hear all about the program from current Honors students.

My D is a freshman honors student. She applied RD last year and received her invite to join the honors program in early April. It’s nice that they have let you know early this year.

Many, but not all, of the Honors students live in Queens Court freshman year.

I’m a little late on this thread, I was accepted in December! So happy! Congrats jj!

congrats on ur acceptance gl!!! welcome to the thread :)

Thanks, its a pleasure to be here jj!

I was accepted into the Rose Hill Honors Program a few days ago! I have heard a lot about the caliber of the program, but can anyone attest to the kind of community of people it is comprised of? I have never met anyone personally that is in the program. Do the people in it generally like it?

Congratulations! Last year, at the big accepted students day in April, there was an Honors program reception in Alpha House. Dr. Nasuti was there as well as many of the current honors students. Dr. Nasuti spoke to the group about the program and then there was time for everyone to mingle. My D was able to speak with a number of the current honors students and ask them all of her questions about the program.

I strongly suggest that anyone with questions about the Honors program do their best to attend this reception at the accepted students day in April.

My D is a current Honors freshman. She is very happy with the Honors program. She has made good friends and loves the community that has developed. She is being challenged and is working hard, but the workload is not overwhelming. She loves the small classes and Dr. Nasuti has been wonderful.

Does anyone know if Lincoln center has an honors program?

Yes. LC has an honors program too. Smaller, usually only around 15 or so. No house of their own, but they do have their own classroom that they are free to use anytime…

My daughter is enjoying the honors program too. I don’t think she feels isolated from the rest of the school. She only has two honors classes each semester so the rest of the classes are with everyone else. She is involved in a few activities outside of the honors program.

Has anyone gotten a financial award?

No financial aid information. Son got an admission email a week or two ago but they are asking us for more financial aid paperwork and I know he doesn’t have a FA counselor assigned to him yet so stands to reason his package isn’t put together yet.

I supposed we find out with regular decisions in the mail, I am guessing last week of march or first week of April.

We need it asap so that we can compare packages. It’s going to come down to money I think.

I had to submit more paperwork over the weekend…My whole 2012 tax return…Im calling tomorrow to make sure my file is complete…

@GCmom415, my mom did the same. And they didn’t get it… She sent them like 20 pages. Needless to say she is very angry.

I remember having problems with the financial aide office too. We had to resubmit something more than once. Have patience. Dealing with them is frustrating. Try to always ask to speak to a financial aide officer, getting you up one level from the person answering the phones. And get their name, so you can follow up.

Jamiecakes, I called to ask about the lack of scholarship/FA info, since we had received the early admit email and the honors invitation. I was told that, as you surmised, it won’t be sent until the end of March/beginning of April.

As an international student, the maximum merit aid they can offer me is $10,000 which is nowhere near enough to cover the rest of my costs :/

I have sent them everything they asked for. They told me to follow up in a few days. I think most awards are coming the end of march.

D was accepted last Thursday and we received the financial aid and acceptance package in the mail yesterday. Should be coming anytime now for those of you who haven’t received it. You can also click on the financial aid link on myfordham (the bottom one) and see the same thing.
