General Comments:
Really stoked, new found reason to wear my Fordham sweatshirt. it’s all uphill from here for me too though because I’m applying to too many reaches. D: but I’m still too pumped about Fordham to care

Also can’t wait to hear about merit aid. I was under the impression that all accepted national scholars including hispanic scholars received full rides. Is this true?

@Avalde According to the link below I think you would qualify for one of the full ride scholarships, given that you are both in the top 1% of your class and a national hispanic scholar. I don’t think it’s guaranteed, but it looks very likely for you.
[Traditional Rose Hill and Lincoln Center Fordham University Aid](http://www.fordham.edu/tuition__financial_a/undergraduate_studen/types_of_financial_a/traditional_rose_hil_2158.asp)

Also, congratulations on getting in to Fordham. Your application looks very good, I think you should have no trouble getting into your reaches. Is Fordham your #1 “not reach?”

Are these full ride or full tuition? The website looks like full tuition.

Thanks @paramitas!! Congrats to you as well! the post someone made about only top 90 percent receive this letter should make us all feel good! And yes I think so. Hofstra is also up there too because of the duality of the film program. I don’t want to do film unless its there actually lol. Thank you that’s very kind of you. Do you have reaches as well?

National Merit Scholar scholarships cover the full tuition. You still have to shell out for room and board. Technology fees. This fee and that fee. It’s wonderful! Not complaining, but it’s not a free ride exactly.

its a pretty sweet deal. im most likely going there if i get the national merit scholarship.

Decision: Early Admit

-Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I thought I would get in because I’m a pretty good applicant based on their accepted students profile. Surprised I got in early, though
-Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: So far, Michigan State University
-General Comments: So happy, but unless I get some good merit aid I won’t be attending.

I was actually worried that I wouldn’t even be accepted, thanks to my sorta subpar GPA and rank, let alone be in the top 10% of their applicant pool. Whatever, it worked out Fordham is definitely my #1 non reach. My reaches are Georgetown and Cornell and UNC Chapel Hill. What are your reaches?

I’m hoping for the NMS, but my high school doesn’t rank. If I have a 4.0 GPA, do you suppose that I’ll be assumed in the “Top 10%” of my graduating class?

Fordham is one of my top choices, but I’m also applying to Bard, Amherst, Vassar, UChicago, Binghamton, Tulane and Cornell University, and Columbia.

I’m planning on majoring in English and Poli-sci, possibly with a minor (depending on course-load) in something like classics or philosophy.

@mongo we want to major in the same things! Except I would like my minor to be in Spanish I think. I love finding people with similar interests!
