Guys!! Congratulations!!! Everybody on here is so interesting. I’m not trying to be sappy but I feel pretty honored being in the same group as y’all.
so was everyone else who got in early early also a national merit semifinalist or hispanic recognition?

Not me. Haha I feel like all of you are so much better than me

Not at all. DS is a very solid A-/B+ student.

My daughter, who also received her acceptance before Thanksgiving, has an unweighted GPA of 3.7; 2120 SATs; extracurriculars that include co-editor of the high school literary magazine, co-president of the photography club, band, and volunteering with the Shakespeare Theatre of NJ. White, $250,000 income range.

How many of applied to Lincoln Center, as my daughter did?

ohhh okay just wondering. and i applied to the gabelli school of business

DS applied to LC. Heard by email before Tgiving and received early acceptance letter in mail yesterday. SAT 1910, wtd gpa (attended 3 diff high schools so approximate) 3.65. varsity athlete, one AP, 4 honors, white, no hook, no legacy.

What will his major be, dowzerw? And where are you from? We’re from NJ, and my daughter is deciding between psychology, Spanish, or Classic Languages – it changes weekly!

We are in MD. He is considering economics/business/engineering (the latter of which at Fordham may have to be physics). Can’t remember if they have engineering. lol

Thanks for the info! Fordham is my daughter’s top choice – I’m hoping Lincoln Center will have enough artsy, reserved type kids to suit her. We seemed to see some when we went to visit.

I applied Early Action in October. I’m getting nervous…

My daughter applied in late August/Early September through the Your Choice Application that Fordham emailed her – I guess they sent it because we had already visisted; she had sent her SAT scores last April; and she was a National Merit Commended Student – not sure how or why she got the Your Choice option with waived application fee. Anyway, maybe that is why she heard before Thanksgiving.

^ I actually received the Your Choice Application three times.

The first was through the Student Search Service (which you sign up for when you take the PSAT).

I listed Fordham as one of the two colleges you get to designate to the National Merit Corporation in the early spring, so Fordham sent me my second application.

I also signed up for another search service with self-reported data, but never logged in again. I assume the third invitation came from my information listed there.

I had already finished the Common App so I ended up just using the fee waiver. :)

Like all schools, Fordham sends out likely letters and some very early admits (both EA and RD cycle) to highly qualified applicants. That is a method to get them to buy into attending Fordham.

Fordham will notify everyone who applied EA before Christmas and I think generally the notices go out around the 15th of December.

Don’t be nervous, just be patient.
