[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Course load, grade point average, scores, teacher and guidance counselor recs
[] Weaknesses: Extracurriculars, essay
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I hate to throw race into the mix, but I was probably accepted because I’m an African-American student in a predominately Caucasian area with an extremely high GPA, class ranking, and sat scores. I honestly could not give a better reason.
[] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Rejected from Northwestern (I’m bummed but what the f ever I can always transfer). Accepted at U-Illinois Urbana-Champaign (will most likely attend over Fordham for FA reasons). I think I could get accepted (but more likely waitlisted) to U-Michigan Ann Arbor and accepted to Northeastern. I have no delusions; I’m hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

[/ul]General Comments: I think that Fordham is a great school and mega congratulations to the class of 2018. I’m so sorry for all who were rejected (especially after receiving emails inferring acceptance). I realize how lucky I am and that Fordham is a lot of peoples’ dream schools. Trust, me I am not taking this for granted. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if I will attend. I heard Fordham gives very bad financial aid and my mom is a single parent. I just don’t want to be given a hard time each year with the CSS Profile since my dad (who was not excited whatsoever that I’m his only child to go to college) has no intentions of contributing to my education. For those who got rejected, keep your heads up. I know how it feels to get denied from your top school. But life goes on and you’ll end up where you’re meant to be. And if Fordham is where you’re meant to be, you can always transfer in 2015.

 • Best of Luck, Ellie

The financial aid calculator is a general estimate and is not official. File the FAFSA and CSS and see what Fordham gives you in grant money.

We did not expect to get anything, but she got about 31% grant and guaranteed housing. File the forms.
