General Comments: Fordham was my safety so I probably won’t go, but it is a nice option to have! Congrats to everyone else who was accepted!

Crowella:

Congrats on your performance in school and the SAT. Congrats on your extracurriculars. Well done.

I am glad you were accepted at Fordham and presumably got a scholarship. Fordham is not a safety school, though I understand your intent with that comment. But let me suggest to you that you need to look deeper at Fordham.

Its true that BC is higher ranking and for those who are concerned with USNWR rankings, that is the move they make. But for those looking for something different than just rankings, I commend Fordham’s programs and faculty and smaller size, while being in New York. Look at Fordham’'s Bulletin for undergraduates and the faculty credentials and the strength of programs, the opportunities in internships in New York.

I know a faculty member at BC who used to be at Fordham and who once told me that he really misses Fordham and its students. :-)

Just make a selection based on full research and a visit to campus (or two) and not just a ranking in USNWR. BC is a great school in a great city. But Fordham can hold its own as well.
