Do they disclose merit aid in the email acceptance letter? Pretty surprised I didn’t get any. I didn’t do my CSS or FAFSA yet. Were we supposed to already have CSS sent?
Accepted at Rose Hill!
3.3 UW, very rigorous private catholic
1960 SAT (660 CR, 620 M, 680 W)
27 ACT (36 on writing)
Lots of ECs/honor societies
@meghank17 You got a 36 on the ACT writing section? Are you some sort of writing goddess?
@rubenm2016 Demonstrated interest maybe? I think that’s a factor.
@gxxsipgirl Yes, you were already supposed to submit both documents. Since you haven’t, your chances for aid are low. The CSS is needed to consider you for merit aid and the FAFSA is used to see what aid you can get.
D was accepted at Rose Hill with no merit. 1970 SAT, 3.65uw, 4.4w GPA.
anyone know where to find your official merit aid amount? my letter just says a deans scholarship of ‘at least 15k/yr’
Son was accepted with Merit Aid - Early Action - ACT 33, SAT 2240, SAT 2 math2 800, SAT 2 hist 740 - Merit was listed just below the decision and says Dean’s Scholarship with his minimum amount. Many full tuition students are likely Semifinalists with NM. My son just missed NMSF in our state - that may be the difference for many with the full ride. BTW no likely letter. Did do CSS but no FAFSA yet.
@emilyskates Hahaha the essays are always my strongest parts of standardized tests!
Merit aid is merit aid, if you have to submit the CSS to get it or be considered for it you cannot call it merit aid it becomes need based aid.
Am I missing something here? Is there somewhere where Fordham clarifies what the process is or confirms that either all merit is awarded with your EA decision or that it’s possible you would get some in February? It doesn’t look like my son got any, which is fine in the sense that we have rule out Fordham and at least we know that. But, if he might possibly get something later, that would be good to know.
Did anyone receive anything about the Honors Program in their acceptance?
Congrats @CAMidwestMom!
ACCEPTED ON ROSEHILL !! 3.65UW, a bunch of ECs, Won the Qatar international film festival best picture, 32 ACT
@Mamalumper, I don’t make the rules. i just know that’s what most schools who ask for the CSS do, not just Fordham.
Hey guys! I asked enroll@fordham.edu about not receiving a scholarship in the email and they responded saying,
“Our scholarship review is ongoing. Some awards are reflected now and the remaining will be stated on the financial aid awards letter. Once we have received your FAFSA in January we will begin to draft a financial aid awards letter for you…” Hope this helps! Congrats to everyone who was accepted! You’ll go wherever you’re meant to be!
@purpleturtle1013 I was wondering the same thing. After looking at the scholarships tab on Fordham’s website and talking to my dad, I believe the 15K is specifically the Dean’s scholarship and “at least” refers to any other aid you will get, whether it’s need-based or other scholarships. That’s my best guess anyways. Hoping for more, 15K off isn’t enough for me to go
I’m not making rules either, but some schools give pure merit aid and others give needed aid based on merit. So you could be a very high achieving student but you may not recieve merit aid if you have zero need. No malice in my post just trying to help people desperately trying to understand why they did not recieve “merit scholarship”.
Accepted to Rose Hill Campus!!!

How do you get to the scholarship tab? By Fordham’s website, do you mean https://my.fordham.edu/web?
