3.5 UW GPA/4.1 W GPA

6 AP’s

State Scholar
Didn’t find anything about scholarships

Checked with DS who applied EA to FC. The only email he received from Fordham was confirmation that they received his application. He never received a thing concerning setting up an account on their portal. Never received info about submitting FA/CSS/FAFSA/whatever. We’ll see how this goes. He’s already been accepted to Mt. St. Mary College (in MD), St. Vincent College, and Franciscan U. All with merit aid. Waiting to hear from Fordham and Catholic U and St. Marys College of MD. So I guess it is old school for us (waiting for something via snail mail).

@m0minmd Your son should check his spam box or even just his email for that matter. He could deleted them thinking it was junk or might have never even checked the email he uses for it. It’s possible, otherwise Fordham really messed up.

I don’t see any rejections. Does Fordham only either accept or defer for the first round?

@3mamagirls there is no need for them to tell us that they are rejected… :frowning:

Oh - I know. But I know that Villanova ONLY either accepts or defers for round 1 - my D was deferred at Villanova and Fordham - so was wondering if Fordham does the same thing. Because if they actually reject people, then I know the deferral isn’t quite as disappointing since they are willing to give her another look.

@3mamagirls Fordham does reject EA/ED students.

Does anyone know the rough admissions numbers for EA/ED?

The kicker here is I am a Fordham alum of Gabelli (back then it was CBA).

2 years ago, FU sent out acceptance emails to applicants who were actually rejected. It was a big deal. They had to contact these applicants and tell them ‘Sorry, we sent you the wrong email. You’re actually rejected.’ I was hoping that their process had improved since then.

I am choosing to keep an open mind. Plenty of time to raise holy h3ll later on. And no, it is not in his spam box.

Just got accepted into Bard College… the decisions are supposed to be sent out online tonight at 8 but I got mine through mail and they actually mailed mine out 2 days ago. Well… it is a relief… but I’m still waiting for Fordham.

Congratulations fiona1997 bard is a great school. My niece went there and loved it.

@Mamalumper I got into their Human Rights Program… which I’m really interested in.

@Fiona1997 My friend’s daughter is there now and LOVES it. I am happy for you - hopefully some stress is relieved for you. I know it is for my daughter as she is in both of her safe schools, and she is happy with that as well.

@3mamagirls that’s awesome! Congratulations! Since they mailed out my offer 2 days ago instead of emailing me tonight at 8, I’m wondering if I’m getting some $$ or special benefits… but I’m just happy to be accepted into a school before Christmas! Such a relief!

@Fiona1997 That’s awesome. Congrats!!
@m0minmd My son applied to ten schools and I didn’t really like Fordham’s process. I think the likely letters, since they weren’t explained at all, added so much anxiety and it is hard to get a handle on their decision making process. It just means there is a lot of speculation and that doesn’t seem good to me. Even now with merit, some is awarded now and some later. But there still could be nothing later. Obviously it’s their prerogative, but my son is applying to a range of schools, some more selective than Fordham, and they have done a much better job communicating and setting expectations and then following through.

I’ve been a ghost on this thread for a while but I was excited when I got my acceptance to Fordham’s rose hill campus yesterday!

Well I got into Fordham with a 1710 SAT and 3.5 unweighted GPA but I have lots of EC’s and a really good art portfolio, business, and recommendations to back me up. So it’s the whole package for every school!

Where do I see if I have received any scholarships?

Is it too late to send in my CSS profile now? I got accepted early action and still haven’t done so.

@m0minmd Why not just email and/ or call the school and ask? Explain the situation to them and say you’re wondering because you know acceptances went out. Otherwise, you’re waiting for a package that may never come.
