@justjacob58 I received the same letter yesterday evening. So I guess were all stuck waiting to see financial aid info…
I received award letter in the mail today with gift aid of $22,000 per year. Kinda surprised since I didn’t fill out the FARFSA because I don’t think I will qualify for anything. Its for a Fordham Loylola scholarship and a Tuition award.
My D got same award letter for $24K, I had assumed that she didn’t get any merit award since there was nothing with initial admission notice. I had told her that with out any merit, Fordham was off the table as unaffordable so guess back on as an option now.
S received the packet today. He’s away for a few days, but gave me the OK to open any college-related mail, since no actual decisions are coming anytime soon from other schools, and he’s delegated all things financial to me anyway.
Nothing new - he received an award for National Merit. No need-based aid, but since another Jesuit school gave basically no merit and $5500 in unsub loans, we really aren’t expecting need-based.
Right now we’re holding off to see what other schools reply, and especially to see about Honors, as that may make the decision.
Getting 40K in scholarships and an additional 5K government loans… I’m pretty excited that Fordham is now an option for me!
I am dumbfounded. My son who has a 98 weighted average, great ECs with a lot of leadership positions only got $5k per year. Test scores were not outstanding - 27 ACT and 1930 SAT but still…5 grand?
@CP3rdTimeAround My son with almost identical stats got that too. He got between $21-$41 from the other Jesuit schools. We had heard this would probably happen. As expensive as Fordham is $5 seems almost comical.
He got between $19k and $28 k from most other schools he was accepted to. Only Marist gave less than that - &10k - but they cost about $20k less than Fordham to start.
@CP3rdTimeAround It is a beautiful campus and a great location if you want a big city, which my son does, but he withdrew the day after we saw the $5k award. It’s just not remotely feasible for us.
$25k scholarship with $5k loan! I still don’t know if Fordham is worth the $35k but who knows. Really was only excepting like $5k, very high income family, but I’ve expressed interest in Fordham since 8th grade and they gave me the free application thing so they probably think I really want to go.
Ended up getting 24k in total aid. Fordham most likely not a realistic option :/.
Fordham just doubled my scholarship… If I wait longer to accept my offer will I get full ride? :?
@columbhiroller was it just a new email? Had you gotten one upon admittance?
@MidwestMomTo2 I received a new letter in the mail saying my scholarship had been increased to $32,000. Upon admittance I received $15,000.
@columbhiroller same thing happened to me. Doubt we’ll see more of an increase but I’m waiting to appeal until I have final offers from other schools.
Did you submit any new information like higher grades or test scores?
I did not. @mom2016mom
They offered me 25,000 a year which is still probably not enough.

is it harder to get into gabelli than fordham college? thats what im noticing from this
I heard that gabelli has a Sat Math score cut off of around a 650. I’m not entirely sure if this is true.
