Fordham Early Acceptance

Today I got an email from Fordham letting me know I was an “outstanding” applicant. As a result they told me that I got in. This was sort of unofficial since the official decision isn’t available until 12/19. I have some friends who didn’t quite have the same stats, but are still in the score range where they have a 99% chance to get into Fordham. They didn’t get the same email so I was wondering if they sent this email out to a whole bunch of people, or if they actually thought I was an “outstanding” applicant. I’m just trying to gauge my scholarship chances.

I also got invited to some sort of Presidential Reception where alumni and the Fordham President will be. On the signup the amount of people you could bring was capped at two so maybe they expect a lot of people to sign up or maybe there’s limited space because alumni will be there? I’m not sure what to make of this.

My D got one too, and I was wondering the exact same thing PS1kd. Her RSVP was not capped at 2. Are you near Boston?

Yes, I am near Boston. When I signed up space was capped at 3 (I could only bring 2 people). It seems it might be holistic, since according to Reddit, someone with a 1420 SAT and great ECs got an invite, while people I know personally with higher scores did not. Other than her though, everybody else on Reddit who received an invite has 1500+ or 34+.

They do this every year. Appears random but always goes to at least people near one of these events. Discussed in other thread too-

Search likely letter in the Fordham subforum for more discussions from previous years.

Does anyone know when the decision will be out? Could it be before December 20th?

If you look back at older posts on this site, last year acceptances started on Dec 7th with most being notified on Dec. 14th

What are my chances.
