So I'm applying to Fordham's CBA,
I'm wondering how it compares to CUNYs/SUNYs though.
I also applied to Baruch, Buffalo, Albany, and Binghamton, among a few other SUNY/CUNY.

Any ideas on how the education at Fordham compares to these? (For Business/Finance)

Also, Fordham vs. Babson?

Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!

I cant speak to the others, but Fordham's CBA is HIGHLY respected particularly in the New York area...and its grads do very well on MBA admissions and getting high paying jobs. Great contacts and internships! Its very rigorous. Come prepared to work!

about FU v Babson - Babson is an entrepreneurial school. I hear its student body is very conservative when it comes to politics.
I think fordham is more finance and management, since it is located near the finance capital of the US. And the student body is more evenly mixed w. regard to politics. U get bit of everything, just to keep things interesting.

I was just going to say if your in NYC to apply to Baruch, maybe u would want to keep that as ur backup? baruch is not bad at all ...its actually pretty good and one of the best cunys, if u get into the honors college thats even better.

Hi,

I went to CBA. CBA will secure you a job no doubt about it or put you on the right track towards a graduate degree. THe only thing it won't do, but which Dean Rap. is working towards, is getting kids analyst positions at Investment Banks. Sure our students get back office and middle office jobs, but when it comes to front office, the banks are snobs for Penn, NYU, Harvard, etc.

Yes..that is likely true...but if you work back office for two years or so, and then apply to an Ivy MBA program.....and get in.....then you are SET for an analyst job...and have a jump on the primadonnas who dont know SQUAT about how the street REALLY works.....and once you get in door as an analyst you can play the SAME old boy network that the Ivy's do...and hire MORE Fordham kids.....got it?
